Upgrade Requests

Have an upgraded mech in your plot? Want to add on some noncanonical weapons to your current ride? Want to get some equipment to turn your character from a 10-year-old doofus into a credible threat in a firefight? This is the post to ask for it.

Reply here with any proposed upgrades. This can be equipment for your mech, an entirely new or modified-into-unrecognizeability mech, or equipment for on-foot fights - anything more complex than an assault rifle on foot should be requested.

The mods will consider each upgrade application and either approve it, or suggest modifications if we feel it's outside the realm of appropriate gameplay additions. Please request upgrades before you use them in character.

Required information

Player alias, the character you are requesting for and the character's canon: Yeah, we can't do anything if we don't know who you are.
New or drastically altered mech: Should follow the same writeup guidelines as on the mecha section of the original app. If you want to upgrade to a mech you already detailed for us in your app, link to it here or remind us that it's in our inbox if you sent it privately. If not, please write a detailed description.
Modifying your existing mech: Just post with a general idea of the upgrades/modifications.
Wacky new guns or martial arts training: Again, give us a general idea of what you're intending.
Temporarily piloting a generic mecha that the White Chalice picked up: Don't need to bother posting here! Just head to Un-assigned mecha and pick one. That's what they're there for.

Special case: Cross-canon upgrades

In some cases, a character might want some ability, weapon, or technology from a completely different originating canon. For example, someone might want to pick up a Nanoha-style magical Device or Kamen Rider henshin doohickey as a weapon for on-foot missions, or add some radio-controlled Fangs to their non-Gundam 00 mobile suit. This is acceptable, and we will approve things that add variety to a character's abilities, but upgrades like these will be given added scrutiny, and subject to a few guidelines:

1) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as the characters from that canon. People like Amuro Ray and Nanoha Takamachi are ludicrously effective with their chosen tools through intense training, natural ability, and heavily personalized weapons. You can't just pick up a magic staff or mobile suit and duplicate their abilities.
2) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as they are with their own canonical abilities. This is to give flavor, fallbacks, and roleplaying opportunities, not to have a lame mobile suit pilot discover his true calling as a Kamen Rider and give up on his Zaku.
3) Please ask permission out of character from members of the canon you wish to borrow from. They have right of first refusal.
4) Bear in mind in-character restrictions on abilities. You won't become a Gundam Fighter without at least enough super strength to handle the Mobile Trace System, and you cannot become an Otome without the blessing of several important NPCs. Or if you're a man.
5) Don't be this guy. We will ban you, and then we will laugh at you.

As per the app, it's time to introduce Red Frame's equippable upgrade:

Robot Name: Astray Red Frame + Power Loader
Robot Description: Inspired by the METEOR system, Lowe created a giant mechanical unit inside which the Red Frame can dock. Why? For more power and strength. And why would Red Frame need more strength? To lift the gigantic and incredibly heavy, 150 meter long sword - the Gerbera Straight II. Its cutting power is immense, able to cleave a whole colony in just one blow. However, the Power Loader is clumsy and clunky and Lowe can barely operate other weapons while Red Frame is docked with it.

Gerbera Straight II included of course.

Lorelei/Kensuke/Evangelion/Whack New Bow

Brahmastra
Kensuke's old at field-assisting riot shield is converted into a new bow. The bow isn't actually a functioning bow in the normal sense, when he pulls back, filaments of his AT field are unraveled and twined together into a sort of arrow, and bow string, and then fired. The projectile is essentially a shard of AT field material. Because of this the arrow will dissipate if lost over a long long distance.

At a later point when he can gain a little more control over it and his AT field one arrow can be intertwined with a second arrow, and when shot, upon impact it will create a mini-multi-dimensional pocket-dimension as demonstrated by angel Leliel by twinging two AT shards in apposing directions it creates a inverted AT Field.

When not in use, it fold up and affixes to the side of shoulder plate.

Robot Name: Rushbird Mode Archeonis
Robot Description:
After combining with the wings of Straybird the Rushbird is able to access Mode Archeonis. In this mode the Rushbird is vastly more powerful, no longer needing to open a dimensional crack to absorb energy from to power itself up. As such all of it's attacks are much more destructive, harnessing energy directly from different dimensions with the Imaginary Road. This also improves the amount of energy that the Laplace Wall is able to absorb as well. Finally the Rushbird gains all of the abilities of the Straybird as well. Gaining the ability to teleport as well as moving quickly enough to form afterimages.

Consider it a combination of early Christmas and that we're nearing the beginning of the ZZ plot and those nasty Invaders, soooo...

New Unit: MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus A1
Unit Description: The MSZ-006A1 Zeta Plus A1 is the new mass production version of the Zeta Gundam. To simplify the transformation process and to cut costs, the Waverider parts are dumped in favor of wing binders similar to the Hyaku Shiki. Beyond the standard beam saber/beam rifle/vulcan combination with many suits, the Zeta Plus series is outfitted with a new weapon known as the Hip Beam Cannon, thigh mounted beam cannons that can be uses in both modes and without the new for the unit to use its hands to use it. While the A1 series is meant for terrestrial combat, as a MP unit, it can be modified for other uses, like the C1 type.
Terrain Stats:

Air: A
Sea: C
Space: D

(NOTE: Any way we can add in a second just in case?)

New Unit: MSZ-009B Prototype ZZ Gundam Type B
Unit Description: The MSZ-009B Proto ZZ Type B is the second unit of the Prototype ZZ series. Where the original was designed to test the ZZ's combination mechanisms, the Type B was designed to test out how its beam weaponry holds out. The unit just screams "Double" as all of its weapons come in twos - the Double Vulcan, the Double Beam Rifle, the Beam Cannons which double as Hyper Beam Sabers (which can double [and more] in size) and the Double Hi-Mega Cannon, two basic powerful Mega Cannons that can be fired at the same for a devastating attack. It can also take up a G-Fortress Mobile Armor mode that can only use the Beam Cannons for attacking.

As a prototype and for testing its amazing beam weaponry, it doesn't utilize the combination mechanisms that the early Type A or the later full production ZZ uses, so its pilot's safety is not assured. As well, it seems that it doesn't use the Biosensor, so it can't draw out its full potential. As well, with all of the beam weaponry, it does run the risk of draining its battery easily.

Or, Gundam Avalanche Sadalsuud Type F' (Dash)

An upgrade intended for the now defunct, and pilotless Gundam Astraea. This pack essentially re-fits the Sadalsuud from being a stealth-based sniping machine, to a high-speed direct assault type.

Sacrificing it's additional targeting sensors, and cloaking ability, the Sadalsuud Avalanche is refitted with given additional armor and GN condensers, allowing it for bursts of absurd mobility (multi-directional speed boosts), or, profuse speed in one direction (Why do you need to go this fast?). The drawback is the G-force these bursts put on the average person; fortunately Hixar is an Innovade!

Those are the technical specs, but scavenging some things from the Astraea, as well as new additions, new weapons include:
GN Beam Sabers (x2, upped from Sadalsuud's 1)
GN Claws (manipulator hands that produce smaller GN beam sabers)
GN Hammer (A spiked ball mounted to the forearm. It houses a GN Condenser and miniature thrusters, while mounted to a wire for launching, swinging, or just general fist-bashing when attached to the arm)

While the GN Sniper Rifle can still be used, it takes a serious hampering to it's targeting ability, thanks to the lost of the binders that house the extra sensors. Also, it completely loses it's cloaking ability with this pack (likely the systems are located in the binders as well.

While the Avalanche gear is a bolt-on pack, it's not purgable mid-battle.

The GN Hammer can also be mounted on the Sadalsuud's forearm without the Avalance gear.

This does not change Sadalsuud's terrain stats.

I'll wait until the power level of the game goes up then.

At the moment I don't think using it as a Super Mode can work considering that the Straybird is off the ship.

Charlotte Dunois || Cross-Canon Upgrade

[personal profile] infinite_prince 2013-01-06 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Some final weapons to fill out Charl's weaponry.

Metal Wolf Grenade Launcher-A large, extremely powerful AEO weapon. In Charl's hands it's more like an artillery cannon than anything else. It takes both hands to use, as it's meant for a much larger and stronger machine than the Rafale. Drawbacks are a fairly slow rate of fire and nasty kick.
Metal Wolf Railgun-Long-range, high-energy direct fire weapon. This fills a similar role to a powerful sniper rifle. It's got a slow rate of fire on the Rafale, in part because of its energy draw, and precludes the use of other weapons at the same time. It's a bit more useful in Charlotte's hands than Micheal's, because, well...she believes in aiming.
Falcata-It's a large, one-handed sword, designed as a slashing weapon with a lot of weight behind it. Charl's has been souped up to work as a vibroblade as well, to help better deal with modern armor composites.

This fills out all of Charl's expansion slots. When she gets Guardian Curtain she'd have to give up some weapons.

RX-178+FXA-05D/GN - Super Gundam - GN Defenser Type

When Gundam Astrea was recovered, it came with a Fake GN Drive like the ones that the Federation's GNX Model MS use. Patrick, upon realizing this in a conversation with Roux, had the idea of strapping it to the Super Gundam (or the G-Defenser in this case given how the biggest weapons were on it).

Needless to say he had to do a lot of begging to the mechanics to get it pulled off.

The GN Defenser type Super Gundam has a higher mobility than the standard, and its Long Beam Rifle is now a GN Weapon. Additionally, the standard beam rifle normally used was switched out for a Shot Lancer. Patrick was particularly adamant that the Gundam had to have one.

Used in mission "Down the Rabbit Hole", two cards for Tsukasa, no formrides.

Final Attack Ride Fourze - Punches an opponent into the low atmosphere, and punches them back down into the ground. Good for 1 target.
Final Form Ride Fourze - Turns Fourze into a giant rocket.

Fafner Gnosis Model Custom

On account of usage of the Mark Sein or Nothung Model Fafners is borderline suicide for Kazuki right now with no Siegfried System, Kazuki is going to try to make due with a generic, Federation mass produced Fafner on loan from the AEUG.

The Gnosis Model Fafner is about as basic as you can get, with a large chaingun on its right arm instead of a hand and an even larger beam cannon for its left arm. Neither of which was very effective when they were used against Idun in the series, but hey. Idun.

Just for the sake that Kazuki has a little more to work with I'd like to run with the idea that the AEUG customized their Gnosis models so they actually do have hands, so Kazuki can make use fo the Ruge Lances he loves so much.

Robot Name: Geant Chevalier
Robot Description: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/srw/destiny/geantchevalier.jpg
As the battles grow more challenging for Josh in the vanilla Aile, plans are eventually started to provide it not only a means of flight, but bring a tremendous amount of firepower it was previously lacking to bear on enemies. Like the Dendrobium and the METEORs from Gundam, the Weapons Box Hangar (yeah, stupid name, I know) is meant to dock with the Aile and serve as a massive weapons platform. 110 meters in length and more than ten times the weight of the Aile alone, the Geant Chevalier is a nasty machine built for rape, giving the Aile a great deal and taking little away. The Geant provides the Aile with a fairly massive beam blade mounted to its right side that can in fact double as a heavy-duty beam rifle, as well as a drill/grappling hook hybrid on its left to capture and crush damn near anything it can get its hands on. For long range combat, the Geant houses multiple missiles and its systems augment the Aile's Impulse Cannons to grant the machine much more destructive firepower, as well as a slew of blade bits that serve to tear apart anything that doesn't stay in front of the Geant. What's more, the beast of a machine is still agile, capable of using Double Image just like the Aile.

Since it was derived from the Aile, the Geant also possesses a Sympathia System and its Res Arcana. The Sympathia System allowing Josh to partially control how the machine moves based off his thought patterns and how mental visualizations of how the machine should move, and the Res Arcana enabling him to power the machine purely off negative emotions.

However, due to its immense size and impracticality in some cases, I'm reserving this for special occasions in UG@, like big, important canon missions
