Upgrade Requests

Have an upgraded mech in your plot? Want to add on some noncanonical weapons to your current ride? Want to get some equipment to turn your character from a 10-year-old doofus into a credible threat in a firefight? This is the post to ask for it.

Reply here with any proposed upgrades. This can be equipment for your mech, an entirely new or modified-into-unrecognizeability mech, or equipment for on-foot fights - anything more complex than an assault rifle on foot should be requested.

The mods will consider each upgrade application and either approve it, or suggest modifications if we feel it's outside the realm of appropriate gameplay additions. Please request upgrades before you use them in character.

Required information

Player alias, the character you are requesting for and the character's canon: Yeah, we can't do anything if we don't know who you are.
New or drastically altered mech: Should follow the same writeup guidelines as on the mecha section of the original app. If you want to upgrade to a mech you already detailed for us in your app, link to it here or remind us that it's in our inbox if you sent it privately. If not, please write a detailed description.
Modifying your existing mech: Just post with a general idea of the upgrades/modifications.
Wacky new guns or martial arts training: Again, give us a general idea of what you're intending.
Temporarily piloting a generic mecha that the White Chalice picked up: Don't need to bother posting here! Just head to Un-assigned mecha and pick one. That's what they're there for.

Special case: Cross-canon upgrades

In some cases, a character might want some ability, weapon, or technology from a completely different originating canon. For example, someone might want to pick up a Nanoha-style magical Device or Kamen Rider henshin doohickey as a weapon for on-foot missions, or add some radio-controlled Fangs to their non-Gundam 00 mobile suit. This is acceptable, and we will approve things that add variety to a character's abilities, but upgrades like these will be given added scrutiny, and subject to a few guidelines:

1) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as the characters from that canon. People like Amuro Ray and Nanoha Takamachi are ludicrously effective with their chosen tools through intense training, natural ability, and heavily personalized weapons. You can't just pick up a magic staff or mobile suit and duplicate their abilities.
2) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as they are with their own canonical abilities. This is to give flavor, fallbacks, and roleplaying opportunities, not to have a lame mobile suit pilot discover his true calling as a Kamen Rider and give up on his Zaku.
3) Please ask permission out of character from members of the canon you wish to borrow from. They have right of first refusal.
4) Bear in mind in-character restrictions on abilities. You won't become a Gundam Fighter without at least enough super strength to handle the Mobile Trace System, and you cannot become an Otome without the blessing of several important NPCs. Or if you're a man.
5) Don't be this guy. We will ban you, and then we will laugh at you.

With Yuki's main ride running away to Drone land, She is going to need a new plane. With some good landing memories, and the usefulness of Hovering, She ask the chalice to make or find a plane that is stealthy, Fast and Vtolable. Were the Chalice could find any 5th generation plane in a world of TIN cods and core fighters is a mystery in its self.

The ASF-X Shinden II is a multirole aircraft that hovers! It's Stacked engines give it strong acceleration and thrust vectoring gives it the ability to turn on a dime. Variable Wing tips and tail give it stability in any speed. The Limiting factor is it's armaments were meant to face as wide a variety, and with no focus have trouble with Supermanuvering targets(The weapons, not the plane).

An Unarmed Training plane. Used to give a more real sense of flight a sim just can't match. Though it lacks things like Radar, It still has an infrared sensor. It's a two seater as well.
(For story reasons, and for character who are curious on Aircraft.)

New Unit: HK-0000i Null Shift
Unit Description: The Corona was originally meant to be Herrera Futuristics's next-gen, mass-produced Prominence Armor, bringing a good blend of firepower, speed, and defense to the table. However, with the death of Bertrand Herrera and the subsequent restructuring of the company, that plan had to be scrapped in favor of more important things.

Fortunately, the single finished Corona was put to good use by Julia and provided a mountain of combat data to the company. Its flaws were better recognized, and work began on the machine's successor. The end result, realized during a visit to the planet Irgel and subsequently entrusted to Julia, is the Null Shift.

Like its predecessor, the Null Shift comes armed with two HFM blades and a full-auto railgun. The railgun is also outfitted to be able of firing HFM arrows, enabling the machine to deliver all that family unfriendly death-ness from a range, albeit the arrows can't be set for scattershot or rapid-fire. The anti-beam gas and chaffs make a return as well, and the machine is given more thrusters so that the loss of its legs doesn't deprive it of flight.

The Null Shift also replaces the energy-intensive beam cannon with two similar cannons mounted just center of the machine's shoulders. Each has a reactor specifically dedicated to it, letting its shots not drain the rest of the machine's systems. Lastly, the Null Shift comes equipped with two HFM Rocket Anchors, one mounted on the underside of each wrist for grappling and stabby punches.

Christine Diaman | Astral Frontier | Post-canon upgrade

New Unit: HK-0001 Blue Shift
Unit Description: Despite Christine's earlier time with Thaumata, her actions spoke louder than words, atoning for her earlier inaction and decisions by helping bring down the group once and for all. Almost as thanks for her work, Herrera Futuristics set about to make a machine based upon the data gathered from her ruined Solstice and the Zero Astray.

The end result is the Blue Shift. Unlike the Null Shift, Blue Shift takes a decidedly different turn in combat roles as they realized that trying to use both of them would make the Blue Shift a massively unwieldy unit and, thus, set up two special combat frames for the unit. The unit itself follows the Solstice's original pattern of using mostly beam weaponry, armed with a basic beam saber and two quick-firing beam pistols.

The first frame for the unit is the Guardian frame, based on the Solstice's upgrade following Adventus' defeat. The pack is armed with four sub arms: two are dedicated to holding the frame's weaponry, composed of a giant bazooka and a set heavy machineguns. The other two are dedicated to wielding the frame's main feature, two large shields outfitted with a special barrier-generating device. As Christine can amplify the output of these shields, the unit was given the simple solid weaponry in the event that she burns most of her energy in some half-witted attempt at being a hero. HF's idea of the Guardian frame was that this would be used to back up the Null Shift should it be used in long range attacks.

The second frame is the Attacker Frame, based off of the Zero Astray's IWSP pack. As the large frame gives it room for another generator, it allows Christine to go nuts with beam weaponry. The pack is a mix of beam, solid and HFM weaponry - the shield is outfitted with the twin Gatling guns and beam boomerang, the anti-ship swords have been upgraded to anti-ship HFM blades and the cannons and shield mounted Gatling gun thrusters are now upgraded to using beam weaponry. With the number of thrusters on the unit, the Blue Shift Attacker can be used to close in and strike opponents with ease. HF's idea for the Attacker Frame was that it could join or even replace the Null Shift in combat if need be.

Pit/Kid Icarus Uprising/Power Boost

So in Uprising Pit can call upon Palutena to do some spells, that are called Divine Powers. These go from handy little things like adding a paralyzing component to his shots for a time to calling down beams of light and meteors from the heavens. Up to now, they haven't used them simply because for Palutena it's an enormous pain to send magic between worlds, but now with Viridi and Hades here shit is getting real and she's starting to get off her ass. So Palutena is experimenting with trying to make some sort of focus that can be slotted into Pit's three divine vehicles and "store some spells" for Pit to use. This would take the shape of a big golden crystal, because gaudiness is a Palutena trademark.

Sadly, because this is still kind of the divine equivalent of jury-rigging, the amount of spells Palutena can store in it is small, so Pit can't really bring more than a half dozen small spells per mission, or a couple big ones.

Main reason for this: Getting more variety of attacks and defenses to play off in missions and fight logs, really. Cherubot's alright, but using the Exo-tank or Aether Ring doesn't let you a lot of room for variety!

Of course, a handful of them don't really apply to the mission model, but things like super speed, bumblebee perfect dodge, or stunning shots (or, later, "beam of light from above" and "suddenly Meteo out of nowhere") are quite appropriate, I think.

In a joint effort between Clan Wolf Scientists and Lowe Gear, Clan Wolf will be fielding the Verfolger.

The canon version is listed at the end of the post. Main reason is that canon-wise, Clan Wolf made it with the help of the ones they settled with, so here, as it is the Earth Sphere they lived, it makes sense for the joint effort to be done with someone from the Earth Sphere.

Ranna will be field testing the alternate configuration S.

With the Fu Xi completely totalled during the Inspector Raid, Cheng has to make do with something else for the time being.

New Unit: Zilong - Command Type
Unit Description: One of the Combat Frame designs developed when Gucun was temporally displaced. The Zilong was meant to be the new 'Standard' Combat Frame - designed to replace the aged Longblade design. Its capability of accepting several modular weapons loadouts made it a tactically flexible machine that could fulfil a number of roles - though other specialized designs were still underoing various trials and testing stages.

The Standard armaments the Zilong is loaded out with consist of four torso mounted light auto-cannons, leg mounted grenade launchers and a pair of concealed superconductor combat knives stored in the bucklers on both forearms.

The Command type Zilong mounts various command and control systems, additional booster systems, and a armature mounted heavy railgun capable of automatic fire. In terms of hand carried weapons the Zilong is armed with a heavy machinegun.

...The Gurren Brigade stumbles upon an intact Levisphere from Cytomander's flagship, and after a lot of Hard Work and Guts, manages to install it on their Battleship Dai-Gurren, giving it the power of slow, lumbering flight. This ability will mainly come into play during the final assault on Teppelin...afterwards not so much, due to Dai-Gurren getting totaled.

Neptune | HDN: Victory | Canon and kinda Cross-canon upgrade?

Upgrade #1 here is Neptune's other transformation, which turns her into a reverse-winged space fighter. In this form, she can effectively, well...fight in space, so let's say that's an A or S rating for simplicity's sake.

She has two weapons as a space-jet. The first are something like split missiles that come in pods mounted on the underside of the fighter's wings. These auto-replenish via magic to the same effect of some arcade flight combat games. The second is a super powerful purple laser beam that's fired from the nose section. This weapon is potent, but its effects are exaggerated for comedic effect in the game - usually by having it wipe out an entire continent or the planet completely (with an on-screen disclaimer that it isn't really happening). In UG@'s case, let's just say it's as strong as a high-end beam cannon.

Upgrade #2 is a set of guns (if Richard goes through with making them), or at least one gun that Neptune can wield in combat. She's always had this as character ability, but it isn't demonstrated much in later games. Being a magic user means she should be able to substitute real bullets with magical ones so that ammo is less of an issue, but regular bullets will work too.

Robot Name: Astray Red Frame Powered
Robot Description: Red Frame's arms have been replaced with improved ones, giving it a bulkier look. These arms are strong enough to lift the Gerbera Straight II, just like the Power Loader which they replace - however, the strain this gigantic blade puts on the arms prevents prolonged use. Red Frame Powered cannot use Astray-specific equipment or its Shining Finger attack, because its new hands do not have an energy socket.

Battleship Name: Nahel Argama
Battleship Description: A powerful new Mobile Battleship from the AEUG, the Nahel Argama is a new model of the Argama line of battleships. Everything about it is expansive: 3 hangars with a combined 12 MS capacity (at least, in the ZZ era - it goes up to 5 and 16 by Unicorn), five launch catapults, a recovery deck and a plethora of beam weaponry.

In terms of weaponry, it's outfitted with two two-barrel main guns, one situated on the center catapult and the other on the bottom; two main guns, one on each side of the side-mounted catapults; two two-barrel mega particle guns, located inside the shield plates on the ship's side; and its ultimate weapon, the hyper mega particle gun, mounted on the bottom of the ship, located under the center catapult.

However, despite the greater capacity and incredible power, the Nahel Argama has a number of flaws. The first is the lack of defensive power as it has no defensive guns outside of the two-barrel main guns, thus forcing Mobile Suits to act as defense. The second is speed. The thing is not a racehorse by any stretch. It's biggest flaw is the powerful hyper mega particle gun. Though incredibly powerful and has such an amazing range (said to, theoretically, destroy Axis - in practice, not so much, at least with the Argama prototype. However, it's range goes beyond conventional sensors.), the weapon requires the ship's entire engine to charge up, thus it can't protect itself or even move until it fires.

Curious requests: Think we can outfit this ship with some basic grunt MS (I'm thinking GM II/III, Nemo, Union Flag, maybe an Astray or GINN or two) and do what we did with Hayato and the Tower?

Two, think we can tie this in with the whole Neo Zeon crap (and maybe get it before CCA)? I'd asked to see if we can also tie it in with getting the Proto ZZ, but that's pushing it and I know so >_>

Three: Also requesting a NPC Bright Noah, at the very least for the upcomming CCA mission.

As Patrick has had a long history of trashing units, AEUG has taken the Delta Gundam off his hands - giving it to a more responsible Ace Pilot in their employ. However to compensate Patrick, they gave him one of the GNX-III they managed to get from what few sympathisers they have left in the Federation - they even painted it up like his old Enact - complete with the decal on the side of its head.

New Unit: GNX-609T - GN-XIII - Patrick Colasour Colors
Unit Description: The current MS in service to the Federation special forces known as the A-LAWs and an advancement of the first mass produced GN-Tau MS. The machine itself is of high performance for a mass produced suit and can outperform almost all Mass Produced Federation suits and almost reaches the levels of the high quality Limited Production types.

The GN-XIII has several weapon options - giving it a high level of tactical flexibility. AEUG scientists are using data gathered from several captured GN-XIII units to see if they can push the capabilities of the design further than what the A-Laws currently has.

The GN-XIII armaments consist of a pair of beam sabers, a pair of GN Vulcans, and a GN Lance - similar to the Shot Lancers of the Crossbone Vanguard, only armed with Beam Weapons and bearing a GN composite Tip. Optional weapons include Plasma Field Grenades which run a tremendous charge through targets, a standard beam rifle, explosive packs as well as a Non-GN Bazooka.

Even unarmed the GN-XIII is still lethal as it can use GN particles to harden the clawlike fingers of the MS and use them as cutting weapons.

In regards to the GN-XIII's defensive options these include; a GN beam shield - allowing it to defend itself from beam based attacks and missiles of a relatively low yield, as well as several anti-beam gas canisters.
