Upgrade Requests

Have an upgraded mech in your plot? Want to add on some noncanonical weapons to your current ride? Want to get some equipment to turn your character from a 10-year-old doofus into a credible threat in a firefight? This is the post to ask for it.

Reply here with any proposed upgrades. This can be equipment for your mech, an entirely new or modified-into-unrecognizeability mech, or equipment for on-foot fights - anything more complex than an assault rifle on foot should be requested.

The mods will consider each upgrade application and either approve it, or suggest modifications if we feel it's outside the realm of appropriate gameplay additions. Please request upgrades before you use them in character.

Required information

Player alias, the character you are requesting for and the character's canon: Yeah, we can't do anything if we don't know who you are.
New or drastically altered mech: Should follow the same writeup guidelines as on the mecha section of the original app. If you want to upgrade to a mech you already detailed for us in your app, link to it here or remind us that it's in our inbox if you sent it privately. If not, please write a detailed description.
Modifying your existing mech: Just post with a general idea of the upgrades/modifications.
Wacky new guns or martial arts training: Again, give us a general idea of what you're intending.
Temporarily piloting a generic mecha that the White Chalice picked up: Don't need to bother posting here! Just head to Un-assigned mecha and pick one. That's what they're there for.

Special case: Cross-canon upgrades

In some cases, a character might want some ability, weapon, or technology from a completely different originating canon. For example, someone might want to pick up a Nanoha-style magical Device or Kamen Rider henshin doohickey as a weapon for on-foot missions, or add some radio-controlled Fangs to their non-Gundam 00 mobile suit. This is acceptable, and we will approve things that add variety to a character's abilities, but upgrades like these will be given added scrutiny, and subject to a few guidelines:

1) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as the characters from that canon. People like Amuro Ray and Nanoha Takamachi are ludicrously effective with their chosen tools through intense training, natural ability, and heavily personalized weapons. You can't just pick up a magic staff or mobile suit and duplicate their abilities.
2) Your character will not be as effective with something from another canon as they are with their own canonical abilities. This is to give flavor, fallbacks, and roleplaying opportunities, not to have a lame mobile suit pilot discover his true calling as a Kamen Rider and give up on his Zaku.
3) Please ask permission out of character from members of the canon you wish to borrow from. They have right of first refusal.
4) Bear in mind in-character restrictions on abilities. You won't become a Gundam Fighter without at least enough super strength to handle the Mobile Trace System, and you cannot become an Otome without the blessing of several important NPCs. Or if you're a man.
5) Don't be this guy. We will ban you, and then we will laugh at you.

Roads Blackwell || Cross-Canon Upgrade || The Book of Eibon

[personal profile] sexygodofscienceandwar 2013-10-25 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Name: Zweilicht MkIII or Götterdämmerung or Zwielicht I Was Spelling It Wrong The Whole Time (to be determined later)
Description: Continuing his trend of keeping the Zweilicht's base frame more or less the same but drastically improving its magical systems, Roads forms his contract with Eibon and gets to work making the Zweilicht even more dangerous. As for Eibon...Well, Roads has gone up against Anticross and injured them, so he's kind of okay. Kind of.

Anyways, the end result is an imitation Deus Machina, much like Demonbane-but very different. The Zweilicht's not made from the same ludicrously expensive superscience materials, it's much smaller, and Roads is no master sorcerer. It's still dangerous.

Roads gets three major improvements to work with from this upgrade. First, Eibon means he doesn't have to worry about that plot-limited battery anymore, and is instead limited by how much energy he can draw out at once. His dash moves are no quicker, but he can do them a lot more often now.

His shield spell is replaced with Eibon's access to the Elder Sign, making it more powerful. How much more is hard to say from Demonbane stuff alone, but previously Roads's shield wasn't very useful against normal weapons, while the Elder Sign seems to be able to ignore standard missiles and laser beams. Given that we're up against Anticross now though, it's still gonna get overpowered a lot. Should help reduce damage, though.

Roads can now store his weapons extradimensionally and call upon them when needed, provided he's got Eibon around. This isn't like the Gate of Babylon or anything-if the gun breaks, he still has to fix it before it can be used again. This is mostly useful because the Zweilicht doesn't have to carry around all its weapons all the time now, so some weapons that weren't worth carrying before (the triple pile bunker shield, for instance) are now worth it, and the Zweilicht gets to be a little bit faster than it was when carrying all its stuff before.

Finally, he'll be adding a bayonet to his railgun/sniper rifle. It seems appropriate, given that it's been used as a spear twice now. This is the part of the overhaul that isn't magic.

Roads gains no on-foot combat or spellcasting ability. Eibon can now use a bit more power when out and about on her own, though she's still no match for a dedicated on-foot combatant.

Compared to true Deus Machina, Zweilicht The Third is smaller, less tough, but extremely fast-maybe not Byhakee fast, definitely not Ambrose fast, but fast. Its weapons are not as powerful, but they are enough to be a threat.

Yui Sendou | Canon Upgrade | Finale antics

[personal profile] gamenojikan 2013-11-28 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Following a chain of events that leave everyone fairly unhappy, Yui will be getting a restructuring of her powers and a bit of a power boost for her finale.

Shemhazai is replaced by עִיר, variously transliterated/translated as iyr, ἐγρήγοροι, or for our purposes, Grigori.
Grigori is not one robot but many more or less identical ones.

The default Grigori unit is a speedy, tough super robot, with the ability to fly moderately well-though they're better at land combat. They're limited to weapons scavenged from the environment, those summoned with them, or mystical kung fu. Think Coutswell. They clock in at about 20m. They have the same barrier powers that Shemhazai did-really they're just Shemhazai with flight.
Terrain Ratings:
Land: A
Air: B
Sea: B
Space: A

Grigori units are on par with other PC units when there's just one of them, though they don't have any really distinctive features (they're not the fastest, the toughest, the strongest, etc...) Their strength comes from the fact that there's not always just one of them; more than one can be summoned at once, to a maximum of 200. It's not a great idea to summon that many, since as there are more, they get worse and worse at coordination, and their stats drop-basically, these guys obey conservation of ninjutsu. Their attacks will still pack the same punch, but their accuracy, durability, and organization gets worse the more there are.

Yui's support abilities change up some as well.
Weapon Summoning-Yui can summon weaponry for her minions and soon to be minions. These weapons can be pretty much anything imaginable, but there's a powerful restriction-no post-gunpowder ranged weapons. Crossbows, Bows, Javelins, and atlatls are good, but no guns, rifles, missiles. No explosives, either. In the melee weapon realm, no energy weapons. Weapons have a dark feel to them, and are exceedingly ornate. They can be sized for any unit (even SS!).

Chains-Yui gets an entangle attack, which summons spike-covered chains from the ground to wrap around and bind a target unit.

Lastly, Yui personally gets a healing factor of sorts and near immunity to diseases and poisons. Bloodloss, shock, and blunt trauma become much harder to kill her with, and she could heal a shattered knee in weeks instead of "months, maybe" once she gets some surgical help. This does not make getting injured pleasant, and the healing process isn't exactly pretty either. How far exactly this regeneration goes is impossible to test without killing her, but it's safe to say that chunky salsa attacks and decapitation will still work, as will removing the Shard from her body.

Due to events in the finale, this healing factor is not particularly helpful, so keep that in mind. Torchwood, and all that.

These replace her current powers.

Josh Radcliffe | New robot | Forte Gigas

[personal profile] azure_savior 2013-12-03 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Forte Gigas

As one or two of Josh's posts have hinted at, the Ganador and Strega can combine together to form a giant wrecking machine of a Super Robot: the mighty Forte Gigas! It can be piloted solo, but like any good combiner its true strength is brought out by having two pilots. This isn't just for sappy, sentimental reasons; Forte Gigas has two Res Arcana generators to power with negative emotions and one person can only provide power for one.

At any rate, Forte Gigas is very much a straightforward, close range wrecking machine. It's sufficiently armored (shut up, SRW D armor levels!), very mobile to the point of projecting double images even at its height of 51 meters, and even able to separate into its component machines on the fly for a pincer attack.

The machine's primary weapons are the Ultimate Lancers that the Ganador would make use of... except only sorta. Forte Gigas can make use of a new mode for them called Storm Blades, using them like powerful beam sabers in various formations.

The first is the Moon Circle, where two Storm Blades are joined together like a double-sided spear/naginata and then typically thrown straight at the enemy like a buzz saw of justice. As since they're all still the bits controlled by Josh's visualizations of how they should move, they can loop back around and return to Forte Gigas.

The Storm Blades can also be used individually as conventional swords or joined together in a double-sided lightsaber configuration, and lastly as the powerful Riot Buster formation, wherein the two swords are joined together and used as one. Putting them together results in the blade's size growing to ridiculous proportions (obviously jealous of the Geant's own gigantic beam saber) and it's considered Forte Gigas's most powerful attack in its appearances.

Losing the swords is less of an issue than it is for most Supers since, as mentioned before, it's just using Ganador's Ultimate Lancer bits and there's a large supply of those.

For more long-ranged combat Forte Gigas makes use of its powerful built-in chest cannon, the Giga Blaster. It has a MAP variant too, just to make it clear how widespread the zone of death in front of it can get thanks to the weapon. Unseen in 2nd OG (though present in SRW D) was the Beam Hammer, a short-to-medium range configuration of a Storm Blade which produces not an energy sword, but a tether and mace head formed of pure energy.

Very, very much an endgame unit. Not only for its canon SRW appearances, but UG@ as well.

Cora Anderson|Sort-of-Canon Upgrade...?|New Weapon

Kinetic Strike Module

A new weapon developed by Britannian R&D along with other experimental E-115 based equipment, the rest of which are still undergoing rigorous testing.

The Kinetic Strike Module is a thruster assisted device mounted on the Dullahan Suit's forearm that increases the impact force of close range strikes to a positively lethal degree - capable of devastating armor and anything behind it - giving the Dullahans an effective means of dealing with targets up close.

It goes without saying that this weapon is somewhat risky to use as it relies on extremely close range for full effect.

Camiu/Kamille/Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: New Translation/Modifying Existing Mech

[personal profile] zetahatsudo 2013-12-21 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Robot Name: MSN-006-3 Zeta Gundam "Strike Zeta"
Robot Description: Robot Name: MSN-006-3 Zeta Gundam "Strike Zeta"
Robot Description: The Strike Zeta is a redesigned version of the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam exclusively for atmospheric use and in sub-orbital space flight. This variant featured a large flight sub-unit, fitted with a powerful built-in Hyper mega launcher and missile bays, and equipped with an anti-radar stealth effect, which was implemented within the flying armor as well. The Strike Zeta sports two grenade launchers and two thigh-mounted beam cannons, which are connected directly to its movable frame so that energy supply and fire control can be performed without using the mobile suit's hands. Unique to this unit are the thermonuclear ramjet engines, A system which used no combustion - a nuclear reactor heated the air instead (as opposed to the standard Zeta Gundam which ran thermonuclear jet/rocket engines), and the variable geometry wing transformation mechanism had been simplified from 3 to 2 steps, which proved ideal for inexperienced pilots. However, thanks to these modifications its cost-performance ratio and flight capabilities are dramatically increased.

This machine is, in fact, the original Zeta Gundam. The legs are modular, and can be refitted with the old engines in the event of space engagements, but they interfere with the newer systems when active on earth, making the new engines ideal for battles in the atmosphere.

<< *puppy eyes* CAN I HAVE A ZAKU FOR CHRISTMAS?! and maybe a dynamic entry?

===

The Custom:

Robot Name: F2000 Kai (スーパーカスタムザクF2000改)
Robot Description:
* Gundam WIKIA
* Super Custom Zaku F2000 REVIEW
* A Wikia Photo

Description:
17.8m mobile suit. Approx 200T weight. Bernie simply calls it "Super Zaku Kai" (スーパーザク改)

Incorporating ideas from the Zaku series, the Geara Doga, and the Gundams of his WC companions, Bernie proposed a variant design of the Super Custom Zaku F2000 for himself. This Zaku is primarily customized for heavy combat and increased defense. Various thrusters in the legs and feet, also a large rocket pack and spiked knee/shoulder guards. It also has sub-arms able to hold other firearms, and is able of maneuver them forward for full blast. Using the Zaku's power source, heat power is channeled to the spiked guards for piercing power similar to the Heat Hawk.

The original materials of F2000 are fitting for Gunpla models (ie: Polystyrene Plastic), so the armor pick is Luna Titanium Alloy. Also, Anti-Beam coating is added thanks to Tobia.

Armaments are listed below:

1.) "DeadEnd G" Heat Hawk: A large long shaft Heat Hawk. Battery-powered; carried on back. G means "Giant". Primary melee weapon.

2.) "Voltek" Machine Gun Z: On left arm.

3.) Missile Pods: 10 missiles in total.
- 2-Tube Missile Pods (x2; shoulders)
- 3-Tube Missile Pods (x2; hips)

4.) Sub Arm Left - MMP-78 120mm Zaku Machine Gun: The conventional Zaku auto rifle.

5.) Sub-Arm Right - Dual Purpose Beam Rifle: Replacing the MMP-80 90mm Machine gun. Looks like a usual MS beam rifle, but has two modes: ranged beam shot and beam machine mode. With E-pac; two other e-pacs are stored in hip armor.

**The sub arms can be engaged together with the Voltek Z for a Full Burst.

6.) Luna Titanium Shield: Suggested by Bernie, inspired from the Zaku II Kai, the Geara Doga, and the gundams. This time, it's a large shield attached to the right shoulder, replacing the arm's two three-pod missiles that were originally there. Aside from being a defense tool, it also serves as a holster for other weapons (see below). Also painted with beam coating.

7.) Electric Wire missile (Missile launcher): Like the Geara Doga, stored inside the new shield. A darted missile attached to a wire that can unleash a shock to captured targets.

8.) 4-Tube Grenade Launcher: Small. Located in shield.

9.) Beam Saber: Stored inside the shield

10.) MMP-80 90mm Machine gun: Quick firing and high accuracy; holstered on lower leg for easy carrying.

11.) Smoke Discharger: Small smoke grenades from fingers.

Optional Armaments:
- Sturmfaust rockets x2 (stored in shield)

Terrain Stats:

Upgrades: None. It is upgrade/custom of Zaku F2 series.

Jockey || Elsa (Doctor West) || Demonbane || New Equipment

[personal profile] clumsy_moe_appeal 2013-12-26 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Robot Name: Elsa Full Armor Deluxe
Robot Description: While Elsa is already a durable and combat capable gynoid who can cause Kurou no amount of grief (though BEATING him is probably unpossible), the issue when she is on foot is that she is pretty much restricted to opponents of the same size class (SS-class in other words).

Because Kurou is a tremendous troll and Elsa was getting sick of staying in an enclosed space with West whenever they get downed, she's getting an option pack for... HERSELF. This equipment will allow her to fight independently whenever the Zombio/Type-28 Destroyer Robot/Demonpain inevitably gets its ass handed to it because of Doctor West's sheer incapability of going through a mission without getting blown up at least once.

The pack provides Elsa with the following:

1) A massively upgraded Spell Cannon. Seriously. The thing is huge - the pack allows her to wield it with one arm though, so it looks even MORE ridiculous. The Spell Cannon itself supposedly has some Anti-Magic Properties in addition to being a big freaking laser. Given that there is a revolver-like chamber and a massive bayonet, one can assume it might have a pile bunker attachment.

2) A pair of twin-barreled beam guns that can detach and act as weapon-bits.

3) A flight pack and additional armor. The Flight pack also has several built in missile launchers for maximum Itano Circusing.

Terrain Ratings:
Land: B
Air: A
Sea: C
Space: A

Using this pack will cause a major morale decrease for Doctor West as he has been abandoned to an ignoble and lonely fate by his beloved Elsa. But as he's been downed it doesn't really matter that much.

Ryou managed to get some ill gotten gains from 'The Insanity of Mictla'

These are:

WMG-KARASAWA1 - One of the most iconic Weapons developed by the corporations. Often difficult to obtain/manufacture due to prohibitive costs usually only Ravens with money to burn and lots of connections can get one, and its weight and bulk can make it somewhat difficult to utilize to the point few Non-heavy ACs use it. It bears mentioning though that for all its flaws, it is a highly devastating energy weapon - capable of mauling armor with ease and accuracy and is still regarded as one of the best weapons developed by the Layered Corporations.

MOONLIGHT - Another one of the most iconic weapons developed by the corporations. The Moonlight is essentially the most powerful Melee Range energy weapon in corporation territory, highly intense with impressive range. It unfortunately is also one of the larger blades that cannot be stored in an AC's Weapon Hangar (holster) unit. One of only two blades that have this setback. As AC blades are mounted on the mecha's forearms this may restrict usage of certain weapons.
