NightlitEquinox: Dan "We are about to start reentry, so it might be a good idea for you guys to sit down or something.  I wouldn't want to feel responsible for someone getting a concussion from the turbulence!  Those of you on guard duty well... I'm not worried."  Famous last words.  ANYWAY?  What are you all (including backup) doing?
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia's on the observation deck! Best place to experience reentry in style.
dessa-chan: Arika, in her Coral Robe, is gripping her staff nervously. She really wanted to see the planet as they got closer, so she'd actually gotten permission to help out. Still, she knows she probably has the least amount of experience as anyone else here.
EricOverbringer: Orlando is on the Clockmaker, planning to come down along side the White Chalice
peter kampschroeder: Haruka's busy playing a computerized game of connect four against Imber in his cockpit. "Yay, I win again! But…could you be losing on purpose?"
VJockey: Cheng: [in his room, deep in thought as he loads up magazines for his Service rifle]
wyverncakes: Josh is currently chilling near the Aile.  He's on standby and right now just chowing down on some of Rim's cooking.
wyverncakes: This batch is actually edible!
Aero: Ichitaka is running checks on Rushbird, since Lowe was gone he had to make sure that it was working correctly on his own.
Captain Gardock: Sanger is, on hearing the announcement, judiciously pouring the last of a cup of tea down the drain.
Jaydee: "Um..." Lynette finds Dan's suggestion rather convenient. She ceases her work within the Chalice's kitchen, stuffes everything in the fridge, and then finds a rather good spot to hold herself. She is not going to make a mess out of this place. Everyone needs the food.
Tengusaur: Werter is reading manga in his room. Slow day, at least when you're a lazyass like him.
Overman Zappa: Gainer sits in the cockpit wishing he was playing his game and not stuck on guard duty.  Of all the times too... though, then again, the turbulence might cause him to lose. 
cubey@aol.pl: Devon is off somewhere, doing mysterious Devon things. That is, brooding around some corridor and ignoring Dan's warning.
MisterGiggl3s: Char's on the observation deck, getting one last look at space before reentry. He has a glass of wine. Always a sentimental thing for him, leaving space behind for that God-forsaken planet.
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia's looking a bit less Cool and Composed, since this is, in fact, her first time going planetside.
lichifruit: Maya is sleeping.
NightlitEquinox: It's both a stroke of luck and a stroke of bad luck that there are people on the observation deck.  Because the normally shut in space large window which covers the deck... kinda starts opening!  Fortunately the energy field seems to keep the atmosphere in except for a short sudden depressurization as the air in the observation deck evens out with the air inside the shield.
NightlitEquinox: (Char and Nadia react)
MisterGiggl3s: Char knows the sound and feeling of depressurization all too well. Hit by the sudden sleepiness and loss of breath, he stumbles backward onto the railing, and asphyxiates for a split second, before the energy field kicks in. He's now coughing, saying something that sounds like "Nadia" in between coughs, frantically trying to find the less-experienced pilot while his eyes sting.
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia stands up suddenly enough to almost lose her balance to the turbulence before making a break for inside!
NightlitEquinox: As Nadia makes a break for the inside and Char gets over his sudden disorientation.  Both notice that mecha sized elevators are actually being lowered from... SOMETHING onto the deck!  (Yeah... the deck is REALLY big!)  On them are advents: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b253/Zappa_Slave/Other/UGGrunts.jpg.  The initial 6 advents appear to be holding something that looks like a large pike with a drill on it.

EricOverbringer: Around now, Orlando's radio finally cuts through the interference from reentry
EricOverbringer: Orlando: "-ings approaching the ship!"
NightlitEquinox: Dan "...OH GOD!   OH GOD!   WHY DID I SAY THAT I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!"  While Dan is busy freaking out his voice suddenly cuts off to a much more rational sounding Ayame.  "Okay, this is nuts but we gotta go now!  The sensors indicate that the Drill like mechanisms that the Advents brought are rigged with both a localized EMP and explosives.  I don't think I need to tell you what would happen if the shield was downed and the hull was breached during a reentry!  So get off your asses and GET TO THE HANGER ALREADY!"
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia: "I'm on my way!"
peter kampschroeder: "Already there! Haruka Amami, Launching!" And Haruka, of course, does so. Re-entry is something Imber's built to handle. Combat during it, maybe not so much...
VJockey: Cheng: !! [Was rushing to the hangar as the alarms went off] "Adventus? Here!? how??"
Aero: Wasting no time Ichitaka hauled ass out of the hangar with Rushbird. "Of all Times..."
EricOverbringer: Fortunately, the clockmaker has a fairly robust auto-pilot, so Orlando turns that on and climbs down to the main bay of the ship where the Handyman is.
Jaydee: Lynette has no choice but to obey. The hangar will be replete with units coming in, all of the pilots taller than her, but nonetheless, guided by adrenaline, she comes to the hangar, tiring too easily without the aid of the Strike Unit, or the Major's orders.
EricOverbringer: The point defense vulcans activate, prepared to shoot down any missiles or similar getting close to the ship
NightlitEquinox: For the record.  There doesn't appear to be a ship or anything, the elevators just appear to be being lowered from... well... NOTHING.
MisterGiggl3s: Char is currently trying to dodge the machines, slipping in and out of tight spaces, getting away from the machines. He'll be making his way to the hangar soon, but he's going to be held up.
dessa-chan: Arika flew quickly in the direction she was told to, her Element ready.
lichifruit: Maya hits her snooze button sleepily, and for some reason the alarms stop in her room
Overman Zappa: Gainer is already in the hangar, already in King Gainer... and sighing like a boss... at a boss.  "Really?  Can't we ever have a day without these barbaric incidents..."
NightlitEquinox: FORTUNATELY the White Chalice seems to have been designed with this in mind, and there is an elevator from the hanger to the deck.
peter kampschroeder: Well that save Haruka (and more importantly, the hangar) a trip into the atmosphere!

EricOverbringer: The Handyman pushes off from its bay with maneuvering thrusters and leaps for the White Chalice's main deck.
EricOverbringer: Hopefully they can make a hole in the forcefield that he can get in through
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia jumps into Freya's cockpit, fingers flying through the boot-up sequence. No time to lose.
NightlitEquinox: UNFORTUNATELY when you get there, there are the 6 Advents with the drillers... which are evenly placed across the outer hull.  And 10 more.  And these are armed to the teeth.  Some of the weapons they are using look... strange.  You haven't seen them before.

Tengusaur: Werter keeps looking around for Prometheus. The tiny robot is not in the room - in fact, he's God knows where. "Gah! Where have you disappeared at this time?"

EricOverbringer: *Orlando establishes a tightbeam with Nadia's mech and starts pouring in advanced targetting data, making locking on to targets suddenly simplicity itself.+
ZebulonCrispi: * Nadia accepts the targetting boost and shifts Freya's shield into Assault Mode, beam cannons unfolding and firing pairs of beams towards each of the Driller Advents in sequence.+
NightlitEquinox: (Ichitaka and Arika)
Aero: *Ichitaka raised the Rushbird's fist the green crystal glowing brightly, the super robot lunged forwards. It made it's objective no secret it was going to punch the Advent straight through the cockpit.+
dessa-chan: It took Arika a few moments to orient herself, and then she flew at the nearest enemy. She knew that she wasn't powerful enough to take one out on her own, but she was plenty good enough to fly around it at high speeds and distract it.+
NightlitEquinox: [Nadia and Orlando] Orlando's modifications make it much easier for Nadia to effectively target the Advents.  Unfortunately it doesn't make piercing their barriers any easier.  Especially since they seem to be Nergal tech.  The unfortunate problem with being an equal opportunity merchant, anyone can buy your products.  Two of the other Advents take aim at Nadia with shoulder mounted grenade launchers while two others do the same at Orlando!

EricOverbringer: Orlando fires a chaff grenade between them, throwing off their targeting scanner and then knuckles off out of the way of the grenades+
ZebulonCrispi: * Back to defense mode, Freya plants its feet in a solid stance and raises its hefty shield to block the grenades. +
NightlitEquinox: [Ichitaka] The Advents communicate to each other, "The Rushbird!   Everyone ready their explosives.  Do not use any beam weaponry on that unit!   I repeat to not use any beam weaponry on that unit!"  Cue, lots of grenades and bullets from 4 of the non targeted Advents.  The targeted one just charges towards the Rushbird and... at the last second... the pilot ejects?!

Captain Gardock: * A wall appears between the Rushbird and the artillery/melee assault. A wall made of Omega Blaster. "Sanger Zonvolt, at your service!" +
NightlitEquinox: [Arika] Your plan works initially.  Until the advent simply drops a whole bunch of fragmentation grenades around itself.  Which then explode.  They don't do much to the armor at all.

dessa-chan: Arika dodged the explosions as best she could, but she couldn't dodge all of them.+

Captain Gardock: Sanger makes an affirmative grunt of acknowledgement.
peter kampschroeder: *"What's with…"Imber charges forward, "All these morons…WHO KEEP GETTING IN OUR WAY!" And Haruka's going to try to punch an Advent right off the deck. Yes, into the atmosphere.

NightlitEquinox: [Nadia and Orlando] Orlando manages to cause the grenade launchers to miss fire... only to find that they weren't explosives.  You've seen these weapons before!   Resealant grenades!  Unfortunately, behind her shield, Nadia realizes this too late.  And while the Freya isn't stuck at least, the shield is now firmly attached to the deck.  It still works as decent cover, but moving it is all but impossible!
vertigojockey@gmail.com: *now out into the open Cheng is doing his best to have his now lighter machine move as needed, raising the re-attatched gatling gun at one of the Advents and firing....if this is the one that haruka punches, then he'll fire AFTER its been hit+
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia: "Argh!"
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger and Ichitaka] The Omega Blaster works wonders, and the explosives well... EXPLODE.  Unfortunately... they also explode.  Breaking through the deck and actually denting the hull below.  The Advent that Ichitaka charged that charged him had half of it blasted off by the Omega Blaster, but the top thrusters kept it going.  However now rather than heading for the Rushbird, its just spiralling out of control!  It's unclear exactly where it's headed or what it will do, but those nearby might want to do something about it!

EricOverbringer: *The handyman dives behind Nadia's shield for cover.+
Captain Gardock: * Sanger wheels the Type-3 around to face the out-of-control Advent and fires a Boost Knuckle at it. +
NightlitEquinox: [Haruka] "Imber!"  The Advent's pilot says as the huge mecha approaches.   Rather than taking the hit... the Advent actually thrusts off the deck into freefall itself!   It then proceeds to lauch a volley of beams at the mecha!

Aero: *Without hesitation he flew away from the out of control Advent upon seeing the beams fired at Haruka. "Oh now you guys use them....LAPLACE WALL." Getting in the way of the beams the wall extended out from it's arm large enough to cover both units. +
peter kampschroeder: "….Ichitaka, if I cover for their kinetic shots at you, and you cover for their beam shots at me..."
Aero: "That seems like the perfect defense doesn't it." Ichitaka is smiling at this point.
NightlitEquinox: [Cheng] The Advent avoiding Haruka actually has the effect of avoiding the Gatling gun as well... unfortunately.  On the plus side nothing is shooting at you!
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] Sanger's boost knuckle was apparently a good idea.  When the Advent is hit it explodes.  First in a concussive explosion, however after that it releases a small sphere... which sensors indicate releases a very strong but also highly localized EMP.  Fortunately, it wasn't near enough to any of your machines to do more than cause a slight sensor jump, and it probably did the same thing to the enemy.

Captain Gardock: Sanger: "They're well-prepared..."
Aero: "They must have been planning for this attack."
NightlitEquinox: [Ichitaka and Haruka] Their plan would be awesome... if Adventus were playing fair.  But apparently said beamspam was half beamspam... which the Rushbird eats very well... And half explosive glass rounds with sensor dampeners and fancy light shows... which the Rushbird eats significantly less well.  Ichitaka finds his armor has been highly damaged.  His left arm is barely functioning and his right arm won't bend at the elbow.  The Laplace Wall is undamaged however!
Aero: Ichitaka: "Well that's new..."
Overman Zappa: * Gainer loads up his chaingun before finally coming up out of the deck elevators.  Picking at the nearest pike-weilding Advent he fires two shots at it while circling around it's side &
peter kampschroeder: "Eh?! Ichitaka, are you alright?"
NightlitEquinox: Dan "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!   THE DRILLS!   THE DRI..."  He is cut off again.  Ayame tries to cut in but... instead, Smith says, "GO FOR THE FUCKING POINT YOU LANDLUBBERS!   THE POINT!"  You can all hear Ayame sigh in the background.
Aero: "Just some explosive damage on my arms, they hid some solid rounds in their shot. It looked like beams due to the reflection, the Laplace Wall is still fine though...probably because of how this engine works..."

NightlitEquinox: (Enemies: 6 Driller Advents, 9 Advents: one in freefall level with with the White Chalice)
Captain Gardock: * Sanger sets his sights on a driller. He draws and extends the Zankantou, and does what comes naturally. "ITTOU RYOUDAN!" +
NightlitEquinox: [Gainer] The Driller Advent's distortion field (because yeah, what else would Adventus buy from Nergal?) causes the chaingun's effect to be dampened, and the Advent only takes light damage.

Overman Zappa: *King Gainer boosts up the output on the mat-ring and goes from strafing into a dead charge, leading the way with the chainsaw-gun revving,

NightlitEquinox: [Gainer] The Advent quickly maneuvers itself between the drill and King Gainer as it strafes.  As soon as the charge starts, it shoves itself away from the drill, which seems to be automated, and the pilot ejects.

NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] The Driller does pretty much the same thing it did to Gainer.  Except that it doesn't need to act nearly as quickly in order to do so!  Not that I imagine Sanger cares much... except there is the whole suicide EMP thing.

Captain Gardock: * One of the advantages of having a sword bigger than a redwood is that melee range is pretty far away to start with. Sanger backs away from the trap as fast as the Type-3 allows.
Overman Zappa: *Gainer attempts to kick the abandoned Advent out of the way, while pulling the chain gun from the torso.  Afterward (if there's an afterward) Gainer goes for the drill, trying to pull it out by the handle the Advent used +
NightlitEquinox: [Gainer] Unfortunately for Gainer, the explosives on the abandoned Advent seem to be impact triggered.  Cue, explosion!   Gainer never gets to the point where the EMP hits him as the concussive force alone knocks King Gainer pretty far... HE'S FALLING OFF THE DECK!

EricOverbringer: The Handyman's bizarrely long arms are great for situations like this. It simply leans over and grabs King Gainer by the nearest limb before it can fall off.+
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] Cue explosion!   However it's far enough away that it doesn't really effect the Grungust much.  Unfortunately the deck in the general area is torn to pieces and the hull beneath it looks pretty beat up to.  It's not compromised, but it's definitely showing damage in places.
Overman Zappa: *Gainer reaches a hand out to the Handyman and does his damnedest to latch on, and use the Photon-mat to slow his fall.  "Aaahhh.... Th-thanks..."  (response to assist!)+
NightlitEquinox: [Gainer and Orlando] Last ditch escape successful!  But King Gainer has seen better days.  While the photon mat did keep it from sustaining too much damage... it's arms and legs are working wonky and Gainer is having a little difficulty getting it's flight to remain balanced.

NightlitEquinox: A voice appears over the comm, ??? "Must you always jump the gun?  If you surrender your units and shut down the White Chalice's weaponry, we will escort you all to a facility and you will be let go."

ZebulonCrispi: Nadia: "We're not surrendering to you, whoever you are!"
Overman Zappa: Gainer: "I went through hell getting King Gainer! I'm not just going to give him up because you said so!"

EricOverbringer: Orlando: "I'm not super convinced we NEED to surrender to you, anyways."

Aero: "Considering they already enjoy being such hypocrites I don't think talking to them will work Haruka."
NightlitEquinox: The unit looks like that for a split second, before almost all of the external spiky bits come disassemble and take to the air.  Leaving only the central suit bare.  And a large number of remote weapons of various sizes.
EricOverbringer: Orlando: "This is gonna be ugly"

NightlitEquinox: The unit charges and the first thing that happens is two of the larger bits swing forward and shoot a continuous laser...  Which spins and strafes across the entire deck.

Overman Zappa: Gainer: "Really?  You know, unit's like that are for newbies.  He's almost like a Newbty-" And then interuption
dessa-chan: Arika flew up and away, out of the way of the laser.
Captain Gardock: Sanger: "Up or down!"
ZebulonCrispi: * If it's positioned for it, Nadia hides behind her shield - if not, she flares Freya's boosters for a high jump over the beams.+
Captain Gardock: * He himself puts the Type-3's boosters to the task of a jump.
EricOverbringer: Orlando relies on his ablative armor layer to protect him while he focuses on his work, a laser moving that fast shouldn't do TOO much damage

Overman Zappa: *King gainer throws up the photon mat shield and rocket's upward, but not without trying to shoot out one of the bits instead!+
VJockey: Cheng: *does his best to dodge the shots and at the same time shoot at the bits+
peter kampschroeder: *Haruka takes it to the face, but this is what being in a super with energy shields helps you with.+
Aero: "Tch..." Again the hex formed immediately Rushbird having to make a full wall to defend itself .

NightlitEquinox: [Arika, Nadia and Sanger]  Arika manages to barely get out of the way of the laser.  Which quickly begins to swivel around in a very DIzzy-esc. manner.  Fortunately she is small enough that it only gets a few glancing blows on her. 

Nadia can in fact hide behind the shield... and it's a good thing she does to as the lasers are cutting lasers and almost burn through the shield as they strafe across it.  Orlando finds that his Ablative Armor holds, but only barely.  It is burt into and in some places it actually cuts through the armor and into the plating beneath.

Sanger finds that while he can't really jump the beam, the Grungust Type 3's armor holds against the attack... for the most part.  A few places have weakened to the point of being slightly brittle, but at least the beam didn't get into the inner workings of the machine.
NightlitEquinox: (GAH, oops, ORLANDO and Sanger)
EricOverbringer: It still works, Orlando doesn't worry about it for the moment

NightlitEquinox: [Gainer, Ichitaka and Cheng]  The Laplace Wall holds.  Cutting beams are still beams after all.

King Gainer would PROBABLY have held had it not taken that direct explosion before.  But it can't maneuver right and the only reason it isn't chopped clear in half is because of it's photon mat.  Gainer might want to withdraw, clearly continuing is not the best course of action.

Cheng finds that splitting his attention does little to help him.  He connects with none of the bits and his evasion tactics are less than effective against the MAP attack.  His armor has gashes cut into it, and one of it's arms is cut clear off.
EricOverbringer: *During all this time, Orlando has been working on cutting through the colony reselant that was affixing Nadia's assault shield to the deck. Assuming he's had long enough by now, he pulls the shield up and tosses it to Nadia with a shouted "Catch!"+
ZebulonCrispi: (Delaying until I hear if this works)
VJockey: Cheng: [Let out a grunt of frustration as alarms blare across the Behemoth. It seems to get dismembered a lot doesn't it?]  "blast!"
NightlitEquinox: For the record, the remaining Advents fare a lot better than you were, clearly expecting this.  They all raised shields which seem to be specifically designed to block this sort of thing.  And the beams just bend around the distortion field protected drills, because distortion field.
Overman Zappa: Gainer jerks at the controls.  "Hey... hey we're going to need some serious help here.  King Gainer isn't responding right.  I'm coming back in!
Overman Zappa: (Gainer retreating.  What's the command for this?)
peter kampschroeder: (Oh hell yes, my distortion field is superior.)
NightlitEquinox: (No need to have a command, just stating it is fine)
NightlitEquinox: (Because I'm feeling Nice, Josh and Devon get to come in!

ZebulonCrispi: (Orlando acted. I'm waiting on the result.)
wyverncakes: And it's a damn good thing that Josh didn't just hastily run out and get himself caught by surprise.  These Adventus people were playing for keeps this time!
wyverncakes: But now things were getting serious, and the Aile rocketed out of the elevator on top of the White Chalice.

wyverncakes: * The Aile Chevalier hunches over close to the surface of the Chalice, and Josh quickly brings up his targets as the Impulse Cannnons swing up and over, each targeting one of the unattended drills.  "Let's get you out of the way first..."  Each cannon then lets loose a blast at them!+

NightlitEquinox: [Josh and Nadia] Rather than trying to evade the lasers, four large bits unfurl umbrella like shields which they use to protect the other smaller bits.  Two of the smaller bits then proceed to charge at Gundam Freya, and sprout a beam saber as they do so!

Josh meanwhile shoots one of the unattented drills... only to have the shot more or less deflected by it's distortion field.  Ranged energy weapons are clearly not the way to go here.
Jaydee: *Lynette launches. As soon as she is called to replace Devon, she slings her rifle to her shoulder, and take aim over one of the threats attacking Mr. Cheng. The sudden launch, along with her quick aim could perhaps take the unit by surprise. Once her shot is fired, she would take a dive to gain speed to evade the attacks.+
wyverncakes: Josh: "Tch.  Gonna have to get up close then?  Fair enough!"
NightlitEquinox: [Lynette] Lynette indeed takes an Advent completely by surprise.  And it explodes, then the EMP happens.  Fortunately no one was there.

ZebulonCrispi: * Nadia raises the battered shield to block one sword bit, drawing her own beam saber in Freya's left hand to try and parry the other one. +
NightlitEquinox: [Nadia] The sword bit... pulls back the beam sword, and slots open in the side where blades come out.  The now buzzsaw bit proceeds to cut straight into the already damaged part of the shield, cutting it clear in half and proceeding towards the Freya!

NightlitEquinox: [Josh] Josh's maneuver gets the bit to back off at least.  Except as it escapes it just... spins about and  strafes with it's cutting laser again!

Aero: *With the others taking care of the Drills Ichitaka set all of the D-Converter energy to the thrusters all 100% the moment he closed in on the boss he immediately shifted all energy to the Lightning Fist included all the earlier absorbed energy. "Let's see how you like a taste of your own energy." &
NightlitEquinox: [Arika] The bit turns around as Arika approaches and keeps firing.  On the plus side it's no longer firing at Lynette.  Arika might want to do something about that though.
ZebulonCrispi: * Nadia backpedals, rapidly losing her cool, and fires wildly at the strafing bit with her vulcans. +

NightlitEquinox: [Ichitaka] As the Rushbird approaches... the humanoid form of the weapon folds such that a large cannon is now in the place where Ichitaka was aiming.  It now looks like a fighter.  Guns then appear out of every place on it pointed directly at the Rushbird.  Ichitaka can't really see HOW there could be a cockpit in there now.  There just isn't enough SPACE for it!  Unfortunately, there is plenty of space for guns, which proceed to fire... Cue spam... only some of which is beams... right in the rushbird's face!

Firing the beam powered by the earlier map attack out at the enemy to engulf both the beam and solid shots in the barrage Ichitaka continuing to fly forwards at it.+
NightlitEquinox: The man's face quirk's, "Interesting.  Sanger Zonvolt!  My name is Lucas Damien.  You probably have never heard of me, but I have heard of you, and Sophia Nate, and the Earth Cradle.  Unfortunately I cannot accept your challenge.  Unless of course, you can force me to do so."
Captain Gardock: * Sanger acutally smirks. "Then force you I shall! PREPARE YOURSELF!" The Type-3 charges full-force for an intended killing blow with the zankantou. +
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger, because he is doing the most epic thing]  The unit that was firing lots of guns at Ichitaka... does nothing.  It is cut clear in half by his giant sword!   It then EXPLODES in a MASSIVE explosion of light.   It seems like Sanger has done it!

Captain Gardock: Sanger (unless whatever comes next happens within one second): "There is nothing I cannot cut!"
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] Then 10 of the bits surround the Grungust.  "Indeed.  Pity you chose the wrong target."

Aero: "Then someone grab one of those EMP spears."
NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] The bits then proceed to charge it, one of them makes a beam saber and aims for the arm containing the Zankatou.  Two of them become buzz saws and aim for the legs of the Grungust.  Another two of them make cutting lasers and aim for the other arm.  Three of them proceed to become drills and aim for the lower legs.  And the last one fires a large cannon at the head.
NightlitEquinox: (Ichitaka support, and Sanger react)
Captain Gardock: * Sanger can't really block with all his limbs being targeted at once, but that cannon is aiming for the cockpit. Desperate measure: the top half of the Grungust disconnects from the ruined legs and soars off in plane form.
Aero: *Rushbird turning it's head anyone could see a huge green glow coming from it's eyes. "MASER EYE." As the Grungust disconnects the white machine let out a huge bolt of energy from it's eyes aiming at the bits sweeping the bolt across each of them taking care to not hit the escaping Grungust.
NightlitEquinox: [Ichitaka] The Maser Eye blasts...  nothing.  One of the Advents jumps right in front of it and takes the hit!   It then explodes.

Captain Gardock: Sanger: "Ngh..."
NightlitEquinox: [Cheng] As Cheng fires his gun at the Driller, the Advent takes the shots for the Drill, partially protected by the Distortion Field but none the less taking some damage!  While this is going on, one of the bits comes down at it with a beam saber!
Aero: *Ichitaka immediately jumps to the side to avoid the explosion, sliding slightly as he hit the ground. "How annoying..."

Captain Gardock: Sanger, curious, flies the G-Hawk in Orlando's direction. "How so?"

NightlitEquinox: [Sanger] The plan protects the cockpit and the sword arm, but that's about all it protects.  The melee bits merely reorient their attack towards the affected arms.  While the cannon blows a hole straight through the center of the Grungust's torso.  It's legs are more or less cut apart and or crushed.  And needless to say it can't finish it's transformation at all.  All and all... Sanger is done.

wyverncakes: * "Ichitaka!  Keep the Laplace Wall's power at a bare minimum!"  The Aile's cannons swing down again and then BLAST at the Rushbird.  At this point it's either let it get fully disabled... or let the concussive force of the Impulse Cannon push the mech away from the orb and let the Laplace Wall keep the damage from destroying it.  And Josh'll prefer the latter.

NightlitEquinox: [Nadia] Freya charges the drill and her beam saber barely reaches it.  Cutting through the distortion field is difficult, but the momentum proves effective an the drill is cut in half!   It immediately deactivates.
NightlitEquinox: Lucas "...This is becoming more trouble than it's worth, and we are nearing the moment of no return.  Everyone clear out.  I'll take it from here!"  With that the 9 remaining Advents start to rush to the elevators.

And Imber starts to spin around, at first slowly, then faster and faster as it brings the whirling blade of death towards the fleeing Advents and any bits who get in the way.+

MisterGiggl3s: And there it is, the Zeong launching out of the catapult, one of it's sprouted beam sabers, hoping to cleave one of the escaping Advents mid-boost, the saber aimed straight through the cockpit. This was done mid-boost; Char instinctively does things like this thanks to the nuclear reactors of most mobile suits. With its free hand, it is aiming a shot at one of the larger bits, hoping to use the distraction to take one down in one clean blast.
wyverncakes: * ZOOM!  The Aile's thrusters flare again, and the machine dashes to tackle the closest Advent!  He's got plans with this one! -
NightlitEquinox: [Haruka] Imber is about to grab the sword... when the bits that were around it turn on her.  Cue 10 buzz saws.

EricOverbringer: *The Handyman steads the Rushbird with one hand and slaps the replacement limb onto the site of the old arm. The new arm fuses with the Rushbird's computer system and within seconds it is responding to commands like normal. Meanwhile, Orlando grabs Rushbird's original arm before it rolls off the deck and burns up in re-entry. He might need that later.+

Aero: "Thanks Orlando..." Ichitaka is panting heavily. This entire battle was starting to tire him.
VJockey: Cheng: *Fires EVERYTHING still on the Behemoth at the Adventus leader, roaring out in anger, however the fact that there is far less effective weaponry on the Behemoth makes this an exercise in futility+
ZebulonCrispi: Nadia, meanwhile, nabs Freya's severed arm herself. She'll be needing it later.
dessa-chan: Arika knew she couldn't do anything about the enemies here, but she could do something about the drills. So she flew to the first of them, planted the tails of her bow to support her, and tried using her Rod Element to pry the drill out of the ship.+
NightlitEquinox: [Orlando and Haruka] The bits were a bit effected by the thing... fortunately they weren't actually doing anything which required all that much finesse.  They just Buzz into Imber.   Yes all 10 of them.  They they just fly it off the Chalice Deck into free fall... and drop it into free fall.

NightlitEquinox: (Ichitaka, do your cutscene of awesome!)
NightlitEquinox: [Arika] Arika's size works in her advantage here.  Her robe protects her from the distortion field for the most part, she probably got a little bit of internal injuries, but nothing she hasn't sustained before you know... FIGHTING GIANT ROBOTS.  And she is largely successful at prying up the drill.  In fact... no one even seems to notice until the drill is already inactive.
Aero: Without any hesitation he jumps off the deck to chase after the sliced apart Imber, not staying to listen to anyone try to talk him out of it. Speeding up to catch up to the other Super Robot he didn't worry about himself at all. Finally he grabbed Imber with the replacement arm pulling it closer to him. "This heating.....I should be able to..." The Laplace Wall reactivated a large blue dome covering both units entirely absorbing the heat from their drop. "I won't be able to get back up to the White Chalice now..."
NightlitEquinox: [Char] Cue exploding advents that Char needs to react to, and a damaged elevator.

wyverncakes: Josh: "Worry about staying alive!  We'll find you!"
peter kampschroeder: "I…huh..?" Haruka's too stunned to do much until she realizes that she, and Ichitaka, are currently falling through the earth's atmosphere. "Ichitaka, you shouldn't have..."
NightlitEquinox: [Ichitaka] Ichitaka's plan works!   Combined with the Gravity Shield, they can barely feel the heat.
VJockey: Cheng: [Grit his teeth. Ichitaka and Haruka were safe so far...but what of everyone else?]
NightlitEquinox: Lucas "...I suppose I have no need to apologize then."
Aero: "Don't be stupid...in that condition even Imber wouldn't have been able survive reentry." Ichitaka could only watch the energy gauge only slowly go up...he hoped he had enough to power the thrusters when the time came for it. "We will be seperated from the others though...."
dessa-chan: Arika, gritting her teeth and holding her Robe together through sheer willpower, moved on to the next drill, since she hadn't been caught the first time.
MisterGiggl3s: This is one of those times where being a Newtype comes in handy. Char could sense the incoming explosion before it even began, and begins boosting hard forward, hoping to escape the radius of the explosions well before they even begin.
NightlitEquinox: [Char] Indeed, also he probably saw it coming anyway since you know... all the other Advents had exploded in a similar fashion.
peter kampschroeder: "…But, Ichitaka, the impact…"

Jaydee: *Lynette is afraid, but her feelings are channeled into hands that work in an almost automatic action - Even with Haruka's peril. She stays within the Chalice, firing away against threats that may be near friendly units. Terror overwhelms her, but she redirects it into a tranquil firing. The Zen of a Sniper. The deaths to her enemies.+
NightlitEquinox: With that elevators rise, with a hatch closing on the broken one.  Then a large ship decloaks.  It had spider legs which were connected to the side of the Chalice... which could not have been attached during reentry.  The only obvious conclusion was that... they somehow managed to connect themselves to the ship unnoticed BEFORE the descent even began.  The ship detaches, leaving the legs there, and changes the angle of it's descent, departing the area.

EricOverbringer: *Since initiative is gone, Orlando trundles over to the third drill and pries it up with the Handyman's absurdly overpowered arm servoes so he can toss it into space.+

Aero: "Haruka don't you even dare think about that, you'll still feel the impact especially with Imber in that state."

NightlitEquinox: [Orlando] As Orlando approaches the drill, a spiraling beam cutter comes from above cutting him off from said drill and aiming to cut the Handyman apart!

NightlitEquinox: [Arika] A bit proceeds to hound Arika after she finishes the first drill.  It's not even aiming for her so much as actively getting in her way and harrying her ability to fight.

EricOverbringer: *Orlando transforms one hand into a cutting torch and uses it to try and parry the bit before it cut him in half.+

"…And…If I don't do this, we'll both die in the impact…" The ground's rushing up towards them pretty fast. No more time to talk. Imber flips around so that it is now on the bottom of the two-robot re-entry team, it's gravity manipulation working as hard as it can to slow them down. Haruka, for her part, now gets to go from free fall to a sustained 10 Gs in a hard metal chair.
dessa-chan: Arika held her position, supporting herself with one ribbon tail, while the other attempted to skewer the bit, still trying to pry out the drill.
NightlitEquinox: [Arika] As soon as she turns to the drill, the bit literally scoops her up and tosses her away from it.  Taking whatever hits were necessary in order to do so!

NightlitEquinox: (Orlando) The cutting torch protects the Handyman from being cut in half.  it does not protect it from getting damaged severely and having some bits of it's armor cleaved off as the bit spins around.
peter kampschroeder: They touch down rather gently in some shallows. Haruka's not saying anything, though.
dessa-chan: It was a good thing that she didn't have a problem flying in space. She swung at the bit with her rod, intending on sending it flying far away... and breaking it in the process

NightlitEquinox: [Nadia] Unfortunately, he can focus on enough to do what he needs to.  This time a beam saber bit just clashes with hers.  it doesn't even try to attack her, it just... blocks her attacks, parries and generally get's in her way.  It seems his tactics have changed!

wyverncakes: Staring at the drill that Nadia was struggling to reach, Josh decides to finally cut loose.  "Burst Rave..."
NightlitEquinox: [Cheng] The Drill is to far in.  It just won't budge!   The same could be said for the 2 others.  Even if Josh managed to destroy Nadia's drill, that still left 1 still there in addition to the one Cheng destroyed.  And that might still be enough!

lichifruit: As Cheng is struggling with the drill... Suddenly, the lights and displays in Cheng's cockpit flicker, and with a soft sizzling static their glow fades, leaving Cheng in pitch black.

wyverncakes: * "BAST RABU!" suddenly exclaims the Aile's computers as the machine's thrusters open up wide and seem to glow... and a split-second later the machinen *blasts* off, an occasional burst of its thrusters altering its trajectory before, from one unexpected angle, the Aile suddenly appears, stabbing its Cybpher Blade down into the drill's length!+

lichifruit: One of the monitors ... comes back to life?  It has the empty black glow of a black console screen... and yet, inexplicably, it casts a pale green light, almost like some pallid ichor.
lichifruit: It then starts to display a static image of the White Chalice, drills ripping its hull.

lichifruit: Over that image, a familiar red haired girl appears, transparent on his black screen.  "Cheng..."

With the chaos going around her, battle raging and away from her, the enemy is far too distracted with the rest to take notice of one, single, tiny witch leading a tiny bullet at speeds laughing at that of sound, aimed at one of the drills that does not take notice of her.+
NightlitEquinox: [Nadia and Josh] Nadia's vulcanfire damages the bit, and more importantly, keeps anymore bits from interfering with Josh as he cleaves the drill in half!   The distortion field was tough, but once through it... the drill wasn't particularly durable at all.  One more down!

MisterGiggl3s: Char is now going for the last drill, speeding up to it at point blank range. As he does so, he launches his two hands out, preparing an all-range attack to hit it from all sides with megaparticle cannons, mounted on its chest, fingers, and head.

lichifruit: Stretching out from his screen, a hand produces a blue colored with black speckles egg and hands it out to him. The Egg shudderns, shaking on the palm of her hand in a rhythm synchronized with the racing pounding Cheng's heart.
lichifruit: As if reciting a poem, she speaks boldly, loudly, and full of passion. "The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must destroy a world. The bird flies to God. That God's name is ...?"
NightlitEquinox: [Char] The drill's distortion field is unfortunately as effective against the spam of ranged attacks as it would be against them individually.

Jaydee: *She no choice. She leaves her position, but knowing her opponent had just learned from her movements, she flies within the mass of friendlies and enemies fighting around her -an old adage she hates comes to mind: "teamwork gives the enemy more things to shoot at"-. Then, out of nowhere, when the time is right, she comes up to the drill and fires at it at point blank. A sniper round, used more like a hammer at barely a few meters of distance.+

MisterGiggl3s: Char then shifts tacticts; the hands suddenly sporut both of their beam sabgers from the wrists, and are now boosting forward to collide with the drill, like bayoneted missiles.

NightlitEquinox: [Cheng and Maya] Said skyscraper does in fact appear out of the deck, shoving the drill bit entirely out of the shield and off the ship!  Said skyscraper then just... sinks back into the deck as if it weren't even there anymore.

wyverncakes: The fact that a landmass is visible and identifiable but the White Chalice isn't breaking apart is good news!
NightlitEquinox: Lucas "It appears you are more difficult opponents then I ever anticipated."  And then the bits all begin to fly off in various directions.
NightlitEquinox: Very soon after that the White Chalice begins to slow it's descent, and soon enough the Welle Shield extends around the ship. Cutting it off from the outside world and anything more Adventus might want to do to it.
