Mission 161: "The White Doll Awakens"

tengusaur (01:16:34): It is the yearly coming of age ceremony!
tengusaur (01:17:35): The boys and girls of the city who are of the proper age gather around, wear white robes, and participate in activities such as dancing around fireplaces at the local mountain, bringing an effigy of a giant statue worshipped in this place to it, or just goofing around as kids tend to do.
tengusaur (01:17:44): Loran is among those who participate in this.
tengusaur (01:18:05): White Chalice is currently away from the city, but some of its people are still around, for one reason or another.
tengusaur (01:18:17): Some of them might've even brought mecha with them, just in case.
tengusaur (01:18:22): What is everyone present up to?
HyprKnux 1 (01:18:59): For the moment, Roux's busy just enjoying the sights and relaxing, the Full Armor Mk-III close enough to get to just in case something big happens.
Thomas Atchley (01:21:42): Loran is of course just going about doing as you do at these things, hanging with the other kids. Sochie has his primary attention though.

tengusaur (01:22:34): Shooting stars can even be seen in the sky.

tengusaur (01:22:57): Something seems to be going on at the edge of the town, among the hills.

tengusaur (01:23:14): Yes, searchlights can be seen there. And something flying in the sky...
HyprKnux 1 (01:24:27): Roux: "Huh? What's going on...?"
tengusaur (01:24:51): A plane, armed with machineguns, flies over Roux's head!
tengusaur (01:25:11): It's headed towards the direction of the searchlights!
tengusaur (01:25:51): And one of them suddenly, for a few seconds, lights up a gigantic, weird-looking machine, twice the size of an ordinary Mobile Suit...

HyprKnux 1 (01:26:15): Roux: "What the...?! What kind of machine is that?!"
tengusaur (01:26:56): There are many more planes flying in the sky around the machine... or machines, for there seems to be more than one! They're shooting their guns at them, trying to futilely damage the giant robots!
tengusaur (01:27:30): Poe: "Argh, annoying flies... Don't make a fool out of me, barbarians!"
tengusaur (01:28:14): Suddenly, light flashes on the head of one of the robots, and it shoots a beam cannon mounted there, firing a huge ray towards the attacking planes!
tengusaur (01:28:32): The beam destroys one of them... But, what's even worse, it passes through the city, setting many buildings on fire!
tengusaur (01:28:49): And it's heading towards the mountain where the ceremony takes place!
tengusaur (01:28:57): It misses it but passes very closely...
tengusaur (01:29:24): The citizens, both in the town and those participating in the coming of age ceremony, begin to panic and run away!
tengusaur (01:29:47): The closeness of the beam causes a small rockslide, and rocks are now falling down around Loran!
Thomas Atchley (01:30:05): Loran: "Eh!?"
HyprKnux 1 (01:30:21): Roux: "Hey, watch out!" Drat, too fast for her to get to the Mk-III and help!
tengusaur (01:31:01): The giant machines, unbothered by more planes firing at them, take further steps towards the city!
tengusaur (01:31:09): (Roux can deploy and take her action)
tengusaur (01:31:16): Enemy list: WaDom x3
tengusaur (01:31:20): At the same time...
tengusaur (01:31:39): Loran sees that the giant stone statue of the White Doll begins to crumble!
tengusaur (01:31:50): The beam attack on the city must've caused this...
tengusaur (01:32:15): But underneath the rocky surface, there is something else.
HyprKnux 1 (01:32:17): In either case, Roux's going to get to the Mk-III and take care of those new machines. Once inside, the unit stands, turns *and takes aim with its shield beam cannon, firing at one of the WaDoms+
tengusaur (01:32:30): Old metal, but in surprisingly good condition...
tengusaur (01:32:54): Is it a robot?
tengusaur (01:33:47): The whole rocky layer crumbles to reveal... A kneeling machine. With its cockpit open.

tengusaur (01:34:51): Roux fires her beam shot at the attacking WaDom. The larger robot isn't very agile, and while it tries to dodge, the attack still leaves a hole in its armor! But another one sees her and fires several missiles towards the MK-III! (react)

Thomas Atchley (01:35:17): Loran decides now of all times is a good time to inspect, and tumbles into the cockpit, from a certain straggler falling into him. Well its probably the safest place right now anyways.
HyprKnux 1 (01:36:05): Roux: "Wow, they're tough..." *seeing the missiles coming for her, she has the Mk-III respond by boosting backwards and firing its basic beam rifle at them.+
tengusaur (01:36:19): Poe: "Earthrace has machines with such capabilities?!"
HyprKnux 1 (01:37:21): Roux: "'Earthrace'? First Freebirth now this... who are you and what are you doing here attacking people?!"
Thomas Atchley (01:37:56): Loran inspects the robot and the White Doll turns on, firing a blast towards the battle. He didn't remember firing that, it's almost like it moved by itself.
tengusaur (01:38:44): Roux shoots down most of the missiles, and the rest of them explode in the air around her, harmlessly.
tengusaur (01:40:01): Poe: "Who do you- what?!" She is interrupted by the huge beam going in her machine's direction!
HyprKnux 1 (01:40:32): Roux: "Huh?!"
tengusaur (01:41:06): The WaDom barely manages to dodge, but the beam still leaves a big hole in its side, as well as evaporating a big part of a nearby rocky hill! Fortunately there were no people on this one...
tengusaur (01:43:43): Seeing what kind of power the new machine packs, the yet undamaged WaDom charges towards it, trying to take advantage of its much bigger size and smash it with a tackle! (react)
tengusaur (01:43:53): And at the same time...
tengusaur (01:44:02): Shooting stars fall to Earth.
tengusaur (01:44:38): Two meteors crash into the ground, near this whole battlefield.
tengusaur (01:44:46): Except that they are not meteors at all...
tengusaur (01:48:00): It seems that Hiiro's and Quatre's atmospheric entry was successful, despite the OZ forces attacking them.
Overman Zappa (01:48:31): ???: "Damage within parameters. Proceeding with mission."
tengusaur (01:48:33): But, judging by the fires and explosions in the city next to which they landed, they left one battle and entered another...
Thomas Atchley (01:51:06): Loran: "Ah- this isn't what I wanted!" He fiddles with the controls and The White Doll stands and starts to slide down the mountain away from the approaching WaDOM.
tengusaur (01:52:39): Loran manages to escape from the larger mecha, making it hit only the rocky side of the mountain. But all the other combatants can see the White Doll now, and he can see them!
HyprKnux 1 (01:53:11): Roux: "A... Gundam? No, doesn't looks like it... it has a mustache..."

tengusaur (01:54:23): "There it is! Fire!" Seeing that the mysterious attacker has been scared out of his hideout, another WaDom pilot tries to take a good shot and fire the beam cannon! Both Roux and Loran are in the line of fire! (you two react)
Overman Zappa (01:54:29): Another V-crested mobile suit stands up from it's "crash" in the trees. Currently it looks more interested in what's in the sky, rather than what's on the ground.
tengusaur (01:55:18): At the same time, the heavily damaged WaDom (whose damages seem to be very slowly growing over with new metal...) turns around and notices the new Gundams.
tengusaur (01:55:51): Poe: "What's this, new Earthrace units? And they're all different? Stop joking with me!"
caster023@gmail.com (01:55:52): Make that two V-crested suits, this one with a different coloring, but it’s clear that the models are related. Unlike the other, this one is paying attention to the immediate situation.

HyprKnux 1 (01:56:38): Roux: "You! Loran, right? Get out of the way!" *Loran's certainly not the type to be out here right now, so she's going to have the Mk-III tackle the White Doll to the ground+
Overman Zappa (01:57:19): *Thte red/whitte/blue mobile suit turns quickly, changing it's stance as it simply puts it's shield between itself and the beam. +
Thomas Atchley (01:58:26): Loran: "I don't really know how!" *Loran tries to make heads or tails out of the controls, but okay being tackled works and knocks loose the manual for him to find+

tengusaur (01:59:38): Dropping down to the ground for safety works pretty well! The beam only melts tiny parts of upper armor of both MK-III and the White Doll. Another house on the edge of the town is hit by it, though...
tengusaur (02:01:27): The two shields work together to stop the giant beam! They're pretty damaged by its sheer force, but the actual Gundams are undamaged.

Overman Zappa (02:02:01): Hiiro is checking up towards the sky again. Anything coming?

Thomas Atchley (02:07:14): Loran: "That's what I was trying to do!" *The White Doll pushes itself up and takes the shield off it's back to defend itself from anymore oncoming attacks. If he can't help fight he can at least keep himself guarded+

tengusaur (02:13:11): Gundam MK-III is hit by the leg, its structure suffering a little, but Roux manages to hold onto it hard, further biting into it with her beam saber and rendering it virtually useless!
aldo salt (02:13:26): "I shall take on all who threaten this town! Mechwarrior Matthew, Leader of the Gurren Brigade! With what forces do you attack?" Matthew declares on the open channel.
tengusaur (02:14:35): Poe: "Shut up with all this nonsense! Aaaarghhh!" Someone clearly handles stress badly, and that yell sounds like it's on the verge of tears. Her WaDom fires a few missiles at the Sandrock! (Quatre react)
Thomas Atchley (02:16:26): *Loran keeps his shield up and takes the blunt of the blasts from the missles. Inside he's quickly trying to find anything else he can use to help fight off his opponents. He decides to try making another shot with the Beam Rifle at his attacker, said rifle partially explodes after being fired so it's useless now+

aldo salt (02:20:16): "Indeed." Matthew says along with Quarte. He blinks…is that a Gundam? Then it must be on his side, he thinks. "We can offer you Hegira, if you wish."
tengusaur (02:20:43): Shields turn out to work pretty well against missiles in both causes, causing the mecha to get rattled a bit but otherwise fine. And with their counters, Quatre cuts off the machine's beam cannon, rendering it useless, while Loran's shot blows off the other unit's arm and leg! That's worth losing a rifle...

tengusaur (02:27:55): The bullets just rattle on all those shields, not penetrating them! Matthew gets out of the way of most of them, getting hit only by a few that don't cause much damage.
tengusaur (02:28:35): As for Hiiro... Some of the Leos are already charging forward, brandishing their own beam sabers! One of them gets cleaved through before it manages to do anything, though, and explodes!
tengusaur (02:28:45): Wing gets out of this without suffering any extra damage.

aldo salt (02:30:35): Then he blinks. "That voice…mustached Gunda: are you the technician who worked in the Chalice Hanger for a few days?"

Thomas Atchley (02:33:05): Loran: "Uhm...maybe." Loran is kind of distracted with the manual here. Oh this page on beam sabers is interesting.
aldo salt (02:33:18): Matthew opens up the throttle and sets his Dom skimming forward, circling the edges of the Leo formation.* "I will not let you bring harm to this town!" he yells, leveling the PPC launcher rifle at the lead Leo…and Firing!+

tengusaur (02:35:09): The Leo brings up its shield, blocking the shot with it, and suffering very little damage in the process. It then tries to circle around the Dom, and fires its own Dobergun at it. The one piloting this moves differently than just an ordinary soldier, it's an ace! (react)

Overman Zappa (02:37:33): *Hiiro wastes no time with conversation. There's no negotiation or feels here. The Gundam heads right for their command unit, with that Dober rifle. Leading a charge with the shield, he takes a swing first at the huge gun it's carrying +
aldo salt (02:39:24): Matthew: "Those reflexes!" *Matthew jets backward and to the left, switches out the PPC cannon for a standard machine gun, and jets forward to the right flank of the Ace Leo, firing at the side on full auto+
tengusaur (02:41:20): Matthew manages to avoid a head-on shot, but it still hits the Dom's leg, damaging it. Zechs keeps on dodging his machinegun fire, though, only getting grazed by a few of the bullets. But that's enough of a distraction to let Heero cut off the barrel of that long cannon!

tengusaur (02:41:53): Disarmed, he draws the Leo's beam saber, and brings it down at Wing in an overhead slash! (react)

Overman Zappa (02:42:54): *And that's what the shield is for. Raising the shield, he moves it in a fashion that would not just block the strike, but deflect off to the side as well. +

HyprKnux 1 (02:43:40): Roux: "Y'know, I didn't think I'd see more of these things outside of Luger's old piece of junk!" *she takes aim and fires at the Leos with the grenade launchers+
tengusaur (02:44:14): Quatre literally disarms two of the Leos, forcing them to retreat! But he finds himself between two more, that charge in and try to cleave through his Gundam with beam sabers! (react)

tengusaur (02:45:32): Roux blows up a Leo, causing further damage to the one staying closest enough to it! Three of them hide behind nearby obstacles (read, buildings) and fire machineguns at her in response! (react)

tengusaur (02:48:38): Two shots, two kills! Bernie blows up the Leos, but now he finds himself the target of two more, raining machinegun fire towards him! (react)
tengusaur (02:49:27): Loran's strike rips off the Leo's sword arm, throwing the machine back! Unable to fight, it starts to pull back... But another Leo is now charging at him, beam saber drawn! (react)
tengusaur (02:49:57): Quatre catches the incoming strikes between the blades of his shotels, defending against them completely.

aldo salt (02:53:20): "Leo Pilot! Your skills…your reflexes…I WISH TO LEARN FROM THEM!" *Matthew switches to his heat saber, and opens up the throttles on his Dom, zipping towards the Dober-Leo, and striking in a diagonal slash+
tengusaur (02:53:45): Loran's block-and-counter tactic works pretty well, and although the beam saber singes the White Doll slightly, he rips the enemy unit's sword arm into pieces.
HyprKnux 1 (02:53:49): *once again, the shield goes up, attempting to block the machinegun fire again+

tengusaur (02:55:58): Seeing a beam saber moving into his direction, the pilot of the Leo brings his own saber to collide with Matthew's, trying to win this not with power, but sword-wielding skills! (react)
tengusaur (02:56:37): Hiiro cuts into a Leo's TV, I mean head, and cleaves through the whole machine, blowing it up!
tengusaur (02:57:06): Not counting the commander, only two Leos are left, staring towards Quatre's Sandrock as if insure what their next move should be.
aldo salt (02:59:54): *Matthew meets the striking, attempting to bind against the Leo's blade. "The strength of the children of Kerensky!" He calls out. Then, a bright flash of light erupts in the Leo's face! It's optical sensors briefly overload! In the immediate afterwake of the Dom's scatter gun, Matthew attempts to Roomba around to the Leo's back, slashing his saber through a leg at he does so!+
Thomas Atchley (03:00:55): Loran feels he can't really contribute more now that he's disarmed those two Leos. He turtles up behind his shield and leaves the rest to the fight to these guys. They seem to know what they're doing much better than he does.
tengusaur (03:01:45): The sudden distraction proves very effective, letting Matthew wreck the Leo's leg with only some minor damages to his unit's arm from the beam saber! The enemy ace is forced to jump back...
tengusaur (03:02:08): Zechs: "Down to 30% of the squad..."
tengusaur (03:02:53): The remaining Leos start to pull back and retreat!
Overman Zappa (03:03:59): Like hell they are! Hiiro takes aim, with the gun still mounted to the shield and fires. Yes, it's a blind shot though.
Lake of Archers (03:04:26): Bernie: "Whew...looks like they're leaving."
tengusaur (03:04:38): Only 2 of them are more or less intact, but several more are literally disarmed...

tengusaur (03:06:10): Seeing a shot going into his direction, the enemy leader quickly dashes to the side! And he counters by quickly drawing an emergency rifle and showering Wing with bullets, though he also fires more or less blindly as he retreats at the same time!

tengusaur (03:08:30): Like the WaDoms before, the Leos disappear into the night, neither causing nor receiving any significant damage in their retreating crossfire.
