NightlitEquinox (5:16:25 PM): That said, they are well equipped GMs, with a variety of equipment setups.
NightlitEquinox (5:16:52 PM): You are headed towards the bunker which you know as a Thoughts of Ascention base of operations.
NightlitEquinox (5:19:45 PM): As you approach the bunkers, what are you doing?
Aero (5:20:21 PM): Canon is trying to concentrate, she feels a lot better being with other Federation troops.
kamikasei (5:20:31 PM): Laura's resisting the urge to fidget with her amplifier by the simple means of using the hand to hang on to the mech on whose shoulder she's hitching a ride.
NightlitEquinox (5:20:37 PM): Oh by the way? Akito has, rather than supplies for a long trek (since this isn't that long). Two extra power supply units, as the Nadesico is back with the White Chalice being as inconspicuous as GIANT WHITE flagships in a desert can be.

cubey@aol.pl (5:20:47 PM): Devon is silent and determined. She does not slow others down, running along in her armor. Perhaps stupidly so, but then she cannot show weakness especially in such a situation.
kamikasei (5:20:50 PM): Having conserved her energy up to this point, she's restless and dreading the fight all at once.
HyprKnux 1 (5:21:12 PM): Akito's nervous - another mission he's stuck in and in the desert? Not a good combination.
Jay Willis (5:22:00 PM): Allelujah's making sure Kyrios is up to speed after what happened to it last time, and seems to be mostly concerned with the missile pod attacked above his unit's thrusters. He seems a little hesitant, but not nervous.
Tengusaur (5:22:17 PM): Frank doesn't say anything (not that anyone else does), and instead he focuses on the upcoming operation. Such a large-scale battle will need a lot of cooperation from them. The other ASESAS squad members will listen to his orders, but the GM pilots? Doubt it.
kamikasei (5:23:19 PM): Laura hopes people remember her warning before they moved out that, if they want her to attempt repairs or healing during the fight, she needs to do so as soon as possible.
NightlitEquinox (5:24:06 PM): As most of you cannot fly, I am assuming you are generally approaching on land.
NightlitEquinox (5:24:16 PM): And that Kyrios is in the center of your formation to inhibit radar.
Aero (5:24:19 PM): Canon is checking the Railgun she had been equipped with for this operation. Though she wasn't exactly comfortable with this type of weapon.

NightlitEquinox (5:32:17 PM): So... you guys are approaching the bunker. You are behind a fairly large sand dune, once you step accross it you will be visible to the compound. Any plans? Preparations?

Jay Willis (5:32:54 PM): Allelujah does have radar, yes? Is he noticing anything worrisome?
kamikasei (5:33:00 PM): Laura takes a deep breath, makes sure she has arm's length around her, and summons the Great Pretender.

kamikasei (5:39:04 PM): She's looking all around as she flies, watching for anything that might try to ambush Devon after she passes.
HyprKnux 1 (5:39:53 PM): Akito goes to set up his weaponry. Hopefully things won't go TOO badly.
Jay Willis (5:39:59 PM): *Allelujah thumbs the throttle; Kyrios speeds up, but not to it's usual attacking speed. Just enough so that he could blast to full speed at a moment's notice. It seems he's waiting for an opportunity to use the missle pod ASAP
Aero (5:41:22 PM): *Canon fortunately has good trigger discipline and is just waiting for the first thing to go wrong since with this group it was inevitable.+
Tengusaur (5:42:41 PM): Frank and the rest of his squad just move to positions where they won't block Akito's shot or get thrown off by the blast. They still stay on the robot though, ready to fire when bogeys appear.+
NightlitEquinox (5:45:16 PM): As soon as the robots are visible over the sand dune (Devon is small enough that her approach goes unnoticed compared to the obviously larger threat) the base seems to activate. It's not really a trap, more like emergency defenses.
NightlitEquinox (5:48:21 PM): It's uncannily silent for a group of 20 guys. The robed figures sly in a regimented formation of 6 guys, 8 guys and 6 guys. They either don't notice Devon and Laura, or ignore them as they go for the larger (in this case more literally than figuratively) threat. They proceed to shoot some sort of light... thing at Kyrios. That's a volley of 6 from the top of the formation.

kamikasei (5:52:33 PM): *Laura draws in a sharp breath and reflex takes over - she summons mist around the Weapons, sourceless light passing over them like electric shocks, as she tries to give Devon an edge for the attack she's sure to make, leaving her enemies confused and slow to react.+

She leaps from this target to another one, dealing a powerful smitedown with her fists. And then she moves from this to the next one, this time with an uppercut. She continues to jump from one foe to the next as much as they allow her, dealing powerful blows all the way.+

NightlitEquinox (5:57:56 PM): [Alellujah] Checkmate, exactly 4 seconds after the first volley the 8 Ascenders in the center fire a volley between the first two leaving Alelujah few if any places to dodge.

Aero (6:02:39 PM): *Canon charges the Railgun and takes aim at the Ascenders firing out a barrage of shots from the large weapon hoping to either kill some of them, or at the very least get their attention off the Gundam.+
NightlitEquinox (6:03:43 PM): [Devon] head kicked off, followed by dented skull, followed by broken... your not even sure WHAT that was but it's broken now. Apparently they were disoriented, fancy that? They seem less disoriented now, as the remaining 6 attempt to attack Devon... though there is no coordination. One tries to beat her face in, another tries to jump up after her. Yet another tries to bat her out of the air with what looks like a single strange distended wing. Another tries to bite her (this is basically ignorable, it will never hit... but the Weapon apparently doesn't know that). Two more can't really get to her through the others, but their flailing arms look pretty dangerous if they were anywhere near her.

Jay Willis (6:05:25 PM): After being emptied, the pod falls from Kyrios; the Gundam unfolds and darts down, snagging the falling pod and looking for the least-crowded area in the incoming projectiles.

NightlitEquinox (6:05:51 PM): [Canon] The Ascenders do not in fact take their attention off the Gundam... and in fact they don't even seem to notice the attack until some of them are blown up.
cubey@aol.pl (6:06:03 PM): *Not intending to let her momentum go to waste, Devon turns to evasion. She doesn't try to outrun the attacks, but instead change her momentum so that she does small short-distance dodges, wasting as little effort on getting out of the enemies' attacks as possible.+

Jay Willis (6:07:00 PM): And lastly, as Kyrios zooms towards the lead-deadly looking section with the pod serving as a makeshift buffer and barrier, a green, circular field lights up around Kyrios as Allelujah punches his GN field up and straps in.+
Tengusaur (6:07:52 PM): * "You have to kill them. They can't go back to not being monsters anymore." Frank waits until two or more flying Ascenders are in a line, then fires an armor-piercing shot at them from his huge rifle! The other Lupus soldiers support by covering the group with gatling gun rounds and explosions from grenade launchers.+
NightlitEquinox (6:08:39 PM): [Canon] 5 of the central 8 line are ripped apart quite gruesomely by the railgun rounds. The rest of them reform themselves into a square of nine which continues after the Gundam. The remaining six form a hexagon and try to surround the Fafner.

Aero (6:11:30 PM): *Having emptied her railgun Canon leaps up then thrusts away from Ascenders. She then tosses the large weapon down at the group trying to surround her which was followed by her pulling out her usual Garm-44 and unloading a few more rounds at them.+

NightlitEquinox (6:15:50 PM): [Devon and Laura] And... Devon manages to avoid the attacks. Especially since two of them end up hitting their allies. It's not entirely clear that they wouldn't have done that anyway... but you probably suspect that they wouldn't accidentally cleave eachother's chests in half. So good job team!

NightlitEquinox (6:18:11 PM): [Canon] The 6 ascenders actually DO try and evade the strikes, by fanning out their formation into a larger hexagon. They aren't fast enough to really evade, but they do manage to keep most of their ranks. Two aren't so lucky.

NightlitEquinox (6:19:29 PM): [Akito] Sorry, they aren't fast enough to evade missiles. Especially a volley of missiles... and so there is lots of grusome explodiness. At least the explosions covered the blood and gore right? RIGHT? Thats 4 more Ascenders down. The bottom corner of the square.

NightlitEquinox (6:26:57 PM): [Kyrios] Allelujah crushes two of the Weapons near Devon with the missile pod. The Ascenders have reformed themselves into a pentagon after their deaths and have turned around, this time launching 5 shots in .2 second intervals at his current position.

kamikasei (6:27:27 PM): *Laura darts across to put herself in the line of fire - or just above it, surrounding herself with a varicoloured miasma into which the two bullets will disappear… hoping both won't emerge.+
Jay Willis (6:28:02 PM): Kyrios can do little more than dance around the shots at the moment, occassionally firing a burst from the GN submachine gun before dodging away again - yet he seems to be getting gradually closer with each shot+
NightlitEquinox (6:28:59 PM): [Laura and Akito] Laura finds the shots do pass through her miasma of sorts. They don't disappear entirely... but they lose substantiality and even look slightly transpatent!

NightlitEquinox (6:31:51 PM): [Akito] You barely avoid the bullets, which ARE deflected by the Distortion Field... but only barely and the power drain was high. You don't want to get hit by that.

cubey@aol.pl (6:32:41 PM): *"Hmm!" Devon jumps atop the bunker and immediately leans low, a sweeping kick aimed at Quicksilver's legs with intention of tripping the arrogant Ascender over. Her fist is already raised to strike.&
kamikasei (6:34:27 PM): *"Watch out!" Laura calls after Devon as the statue appears, reaching a hand out toward her and willing desperately for her to move quickly enough to respond to the new arrival.+

Even with Quicksilver out of harm's way, Devon still strikes - crystal shards erupt over her fist as it slams down, not on any living being but on the bunker itself. The shattering hit may just cause a collapse and bury some of the Weapons under the rubble.+

Aero (6:41:10 PM): *Several dozen more rounds came from Canon at the remaining Ascenders, she wasn't going to give them a chance to cause any more damage.+
NightlitEquinox (6:41:37 PM): For the record, the GMs have formed a perimiter and have weapons pointed at the area. Apparently they are ready to pick off stragglers or something.
Tengusaur (6:43:07 PM): * "I'll support our Shifters! Cover me." Frank jumps off Akito's machine and rides towards the bigger Weapon group, raising a big cloud of smoke and firing his machinegun at them. Instead of stopping he rides past, hacking at one with an axe as he passes by! The rest of his squad provides cover fire.+
NightlitEquinox (6:45:29 PM): [Frank] The weapons can't dodge gunfire... and the axe cuts into one of them. Really... Frank might have been in danger of being attacked by them, but they are getting mowed down by the gunfire. And yeah, they are tough so they don't just die... but they still get pushed back by the force SO yeah. A few of them do go down from the sheer amount of ballistics though.

NightlitEquinox (6:47:13 PM): [Devon] The hanger collapsed. While it doesn't hit anything outside... nothing more is coming out of there anytime soon.

cubey@aol.pl (6:50:01 PM): Devon's intention was to cause more enemy casualties rather than cut off reinforcements she's sure she could handle anyway. So she looks at the two Ascenders with a focused gaze. And an annoyed expression, not that anyone can see.

Jay Willis (6:52:07 PM): *Kyrios suddenly stops dancing around; the GN shield comes up again, and the unit blazes forward into the pack of Ascendents, a beam sabre and it's bladed shield arcing towards the flies in it's path.

HyprKnux 1 (6:52:14 PM): Akito: *Those attacks were hitting hard on the barrier. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that he was killing people no matter what. And it takes a swift strike with a beam saber from a Leo to stop it. That strike was... surprisingly accurate. In fact, you might think it was Char. Except that's ridiculous, the Leo isn't red.

NightlitEquinox (8:27:27 PM): [Hallelujah] Outmatched he is, as the knee moves up, the overflag meets it with a knee of his own. The defense rod grasps Kyrios' leg and with a spin, Hal finds the Gundam's face pressed into the ground with the overflag behind it.
Tengusaur (8:27:53 PM): *Frank throws a small axe at the knee joint of one of the blocking mecha! It's ridiculous to think this would do anything to the machine, by pure physical force, but that's not his point. The weapon has his last explosive attached.+

NightlitEquinox (8:35:08 PM): Suddenly a bunch of beams from above scatter the Federation troops.
NightlitEquinox (8:35:51 PM): A group of quadrapedal mobile suits fall out of drop ships?
NightlitEquinox (8:36:25 PM): Allelujah and Canon would recognize them as... ZAFT?
NightlitEquinox (8:36:59 PM): The Federation toops are entirely caught off guard by this.

NightlitEquinox (8:38:08 PM): And then, more Gundams and GINNs and other ZAFT Mobile suits also rain from the sky. They seem to be ignoring you.

Jay Willis (8:41:23 PM): and more focused on finding the nearest living animal to kill - though he had the foresight to kill his communications, so the only clue to his reaction is on the video.
