SRWUG@ Applications
Application Rules
- Before you can post or comment with a character in either comm, you must apply and be accepted here.
- Each player is be limited to 6 characters. However, provided a player has six characters and maintained good activity for all of them, they may request a seventh slot. In the event they drop a character though, they will have to request the seventh slot again. More details on the seventh slot can be found here.
- Furthermore, after introducing a new canon to the RP, each player will have to wait at least one full activity cycle before they may do so again.
- When posting an app, please put the character name and whether the character was reserved in the comment subject
- You may not app characters who are Reserved, Taken or serve a primarily antagonistic role without working something out with the mods first - please read those two entries first, along with the FAQ if you're new.
- The template is below, note that depending on what kind of character you are apping you may be able to ignore some portions of the template.
- You must fill out all sections marked REQUIRED; other sections are optional or may not be relevant to your character.
- Please note that the Unit/Flagship sections are required if you want to have one, and should be written in your own words. Supplemental links to wikis or MAHQ are fine, but only as supplements; we need to know you can play your unit in combat just like we need to know you can play your character in RP.
- Before writing the app, it is extremely important that you familiarize yourself with the world of UG@ and read the wiki. The world is not a blank slate for you to work with; it is a specific post-apocalyptic setting with a large amount of predetermined backstory and as a result, there are some things which simply will not be found in it
- If you want to app an OC (original character), please view the section below the app template.
- Any character for which canon review would be difficult and/or require a large amount of money (such as video games and untranslated works, fan translations are usually okay) requires a full write up, using the rules outlined for Original Characters below.
- For notes on each specific section click here.
The Application (Copy and paste this, then fill it out.)
Original Characters
- The most important thing to remember when designing your original character: your OC can't do everything. As well, be reasonable with your character's powers: the "power level" here is pretty high, but try to be self-consistent at least.
- Your original character must be detailed enough that we can run a game with them, and show us that you have put enough thought into the character that you know them as well as you would know any other character that someone else made up. While we don't necessarily expect you to not make up anything on the fly while RPing your OC, we do need them to have enough definition in the first place that they don't become your personal "whatever is convenient at the time" spouting device.
- The above also means we reserve the right to ask for longer or more detailed Personality and/or Background section, simply to make sure we have a full idea of the character without canon review to fall back on.
- The mech/battleship and capabilities/resources sections are just as, if not more, important than background and personality, if they're applicable to your character. Also, a physical description of its appearance is highly encouraged.
- If your OC is written using plot devices from another canon, please make sure you ask the player's playing from those canons first. Some things are assumed to be part of the setting as opposed to any particular canon, so being a Coordinator, Newtype, Psychodriver or what not is generally okay so long as you aren't a super special example. Anything more specific, such as being a member of such and such organization or having been at a historical event definitely needs permission.
- You need an event list if you want events, and your event list needs to be a little more detailed than for a canon character for the same reasons as personality and background.

Character Name: Tony Stark
Source Canon: Iron Man
Community Tag: Tony Stark
Notes: Highly edited and changed version of Iron Man and Iron Man 2 to suit the setting needs.
Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man_(film)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man_2
Personality: Tony Stark. Billionaire, if now effectively Millionaire Playboy, World Entrepreneur, and Genius. A man who has made his living building weapons and selling them to the highest bidder, namely Neo-America in the name of peacekeeping. As a genius he is more than capable of producing the highest technology known to mankind, and as a person he is no less than charming, amusing, drinks a lot, and has sometimes really bad ideas that need to be refined several times in the course of action.
Tony relies heavily on his friends, people like his friend Rhodey, bodyguard and chauffeur Happy Hogan, and his assistant Pepper Potts. Depending on the situation he tends to bounce various ideas off them, often being brought in line but never dissuaded by his antics. Tony is incorrigible at best, able to deal with various situations with aplomb. However he is not quite as good as keeping his cool under fire, as he has yet to actually experience a live battlefield. But after his experiences in the war-torn state of... wherever, he has a need to do whatever is right.
When he discovers his weapons are being used for evil, he has a change of heart, quite literally in fact. After his rescue, Tony becomes more determined to help out the world, protect it and give back to the people who his weapons had harmed over time. It doesn't take a genius to know that Tony is a kind hearted man by his example, and he wants to do everything right again. Despite this he is outwardly flashy, hilarious and decides to change the world through his own means.
When he's in his Iron Man suit, he feels strong, powerful, and despite it without it he admits that he has a lot of things going for him without the suit. He knows his limitations and the limitations of people around him, as assured in his math as any other person would be with his genius intellect. Accompanied by his computer Jarvis, he is able to deal with things the way he deals with all of them: with a lot of flash and pomp.

Robot Name: Iron Man Mark 1
Robot Description: The Iron Man suit is a suit built and powered by an Arc Reactor that sits in Tony's chest to keep shrapnel from reaching it. With no way to remove the shards, he uses the suit to be his shield as it were. Armed with many sensors, infra-red, scanning, broadband passive frequencies, linkups and such, Tony is able to hack into systems on the go, as well as fight in optimal combat situations. His suit is powered by repulsor technology, which allows blasts of power to be shot out from his hands, with his chest working as a unibeam. His suit itself is armed with a sweeping tracking system, missiles, flares, tranquilizer shots, the whole nine yards. He is a walking arsenal and everything is built into the suit.
Terrain Stats: (This is optional, but for those who have played SRW, this is a good way to give us a quick judge of how good your mech is overall. For those of you who haven't played the games, they are measured: --, D, C, B, A, S, with -- or D meaning it can't fight there at all and S being the best. Note that only upgrades tend to have an S unless they are entirely gimped or unusable in other areas.)

"The idea is that I join you guys, and go do crazy hero-like things. That's okay. But I also want to get this straight: I'm not making weapons for you all. Iron Man stays with me, and if you want to look it over, that's fine. But I will guarantee that you'll be pretty far behind the curve in fact! I'll bet a hundred dollars. That's right, a hundred. Five hundred if you decipher just ONE of my systems. A thousand to whoever can make a working prototype. But I will guarantee that I am your best damn ally, and your worst enemy."
"Are we clear? And someone get me another cheeseburger because this is the best damn thing I've eaten in a long time. And I've been subsisting on gruel and thin soup for weeks now."

While she remains heated rivals with Gainer Sanga , the man she acknowledges as "Game Champ", both within cyberspace and on the fields of battle, she's also developed a similar relationship with Kamille Bidan. Both of them officially joining the Zeon faction at the same time only helped to deepen this rivalry, and the two of them seem to share similar interests. Cynthia views the young newtype as friend and rival, but also as a resource, she's coy enough to see the value he has on and off the battlefield.
Her relationship with Kensuke Aida is a completely different matter. She recognized the potential in the boy after witnessing the power of an EVA, and quickly moved in to fill the void left by "that detestable redhead" in order to secure another powerful ally. Before she even realized it, though, she'd actually developed a very real crush on the scrawny boy. Watching someone initially weak become so much stronger through nothing but hard work is something very much respected in gamer circles, and Cynthia anxiously awaits the day she can call him her equal. She knows it's not far off.
Her fellow castmates, Gainer Sanga and Adette Kistler, she has respect for both of them. She constantly bickers and competes with Gainer over who's gotten the most killmarks, or the performance of her Dominator over his King Gainer. She respects the boy's spirit as well, her own isn't that much different. And she's very grateful to Gainer for, in her eyes, "rescuing her from herself."
As for Adette, she's watching her senior progress through life with great interest, she knows that she may be doing very similar things in the near future. Seeing her attempt Overbattler, and actually starting to develop some skill within the game, has really touched something in Cynthia's heart, she knows her senior is doing her best. She's also got an invested interest in seeing which man she ultimately ends up with, personally, she's rooting for Michael Wilson.
Non-relationship-wise, Cynthia has matured quite a bit since joining the chalice. She's learned respect for human lives, and continues to be far more clever and devious than her outward personality would suggest. Being closer to her idol has taught her how human even the most ace of pilots really are, and a few close shaves while showboating have made her a bit more cautious in battle. She still favors psychological warfare while piloting the Dominator, overwhelming and frightening enemies with her machine's unique characteristics; some of her favorite overskill forms are that of opponents she's had issues with in the past. Expect to see things like a small-scale Getter Dragon, or perhaps a Giant Kamen Rider (Ultraman?!) in the future; I still have plenty of ideas of cool things to do with a shape-shifting mech.
