Mission 012: Armed Intervention

[20:29] Nerdorama09: You have all, in one way or another, been convinced or coerced into helping the Celestial Being with a certain mission in a nearby abandoned satellite cluster
[20:30] Lichi: Roger was told it was the right thing to do. :D
[20:30] Nerdorama09: It's just about time for Sumeragi to call you. What's up?
[20:30] TK: Tohya was told to do it.
[20:30] TK: He was very grumbly about the whole thing.
[20:30] Aero: Ichitaka signed up immediately after hearing about it.
[20:30] TK: But his mecha stands out, especially in space.
[20:31] TK: So it's ideal for this sort of overt action.
[20:31] Prof: Nadia's mentally going through all of Freya's available combat options one more time.
[20:31] Ethan: Setsuna naturally didn't have problems following Sumeragi's orders, but he goes through with his basic routine of staring at the ceiling until mission time.
[20:31] vertigojockey@gmail.com: Cheng was volunteered. As it was an order from the Brass he obeyed with little question. He was a little worried though because Behemoth's thruster gimbals were acting up since the last training session.

[20:33] Prof: Nadia: "It's something to do, isn't it?"
[20:33] Zappa: Gainer:" Purple... there's nothing purple out here."
[20:33] Aero: Ichitaka: "Well it's better than sitting around being nervous right."
[20:33] Zappa: Gainer: "If you're talking about pink..."
[20:33] Lichi: Roger: "What the little lady says i pretty much it~"
[20:34] TK: Tohya would punch Gainer, but that would require to much effort.

[20:35] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi comes on everyone's communicators over an encrypted band.
[20:35] TK: Tohya frowns, "Considering we are attacking something, I doubt that will remain the case."
[20:35] Lichi: Zwei Hildebrand Kaiser salutes in sync with Roger.
[20:36] TK: Tohya shuts up when Sumeragi contacts them.
[20:36] Ethan: Setsuna listens intently.
[20:36] vertigojockey@gmail.com: Cheng: [snapped all his attention onto Sumeragi, and by that I mean for the mission rather than her rack like most men would do]
[20:36] Prof: Her first real mission... Nadia's all ears.
[20:36] Aero: Ichitaka quiets waiting for the details.
[20:37] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "The mission will commence shortly. We will be intervening in a conflict between two paramilitary groups around a satellite facility."
[20:38] Prof: Nadia: "Will there be civilians around?"
[20:38] Zappa: Gainer listens, but, he's actually fiddling with the controls, making very slight movements as he tries adapting movement to space.

[20:38] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "Negative, though there are several noncombatant engineers from both factions aboard the facility."
[20:39] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "The goal of the mission is to end the battle before the satellite is too damaged."
[20:39] Aero: Ichitaka: "So we should watch out for collateral..."
[20:40] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "The parties involved appear to be the Divine Crusaders with some of their political allies, and the group called Adventus."
[20:40] TK: Tohya's eyes widen, "Wait what?"
[20:40] Ethan: Setsuna sits up at this.
[20:40] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "We can assume the latter will attempt to destroy the satellite if cornered."
[20:41] Prof: Nadia: "You've fought them before?"
[20:41] TK: Tohya "No, but I've been around."
[20:41] Aero: Ichitaka: "I think I also heard the name Adventus somewhere before..."
[20:41] TK: Tohya "Neither Adventus nor the Divine Crusaders are something you want to mess with."
[20:42] Lichi: Roger: "Well I think that WE aren't people you wanna mess with!"
[20:42] Lichi: Hildebrand puts its hands up, ready for FISTICUFFS
[20:42] TK: Tohya shakes his head, "But they aren't messing with us. We are attacking THEM!"
[20:42] Ethan: Setsuna suddenly joins the group.
[20:42] Aero: Ichitaka: "To stop them from causing damage to the satelite Tohya."
[20:42] Lichi: Roger: "Hey now, kid, who's side are you on here?"
[20:42] TK: He is obviously far less happy now.
[20:43] Lichi: If Hildebrand had a tongue to stick out, it might be doing so.
[20:43] Nerdorama09: Sumeragi: "We will attack both groups and disable or destroy any units that don't voluntarily disarm. The mission objective is preservation of the satellite. Any questions?"
[20:43] TK: Tohya "Do we even know why they are attacking or what the satellite does?"

[20:43] Ethan: Setsuna: "They're two military factions who promote war in the name of their owngoals."

[20:44] Prof: Nadia: "We're fighting to stop conflict, not for personal gain, right?"

[20:45] TK: Tohya rolls his eyes, Cheng was right.
[20:45] TK: Tohya "EXACTLY!"
[20:45] Zappa: Brofist Tohya?

[20:46] Lichi: Roger: "And come what may! The right thing to do is rarely easy!"
[20:46] Aero: Ichitaka: "You guys shouldn't worry about it, I highly doubt there's any military force right now that could stand up to all of White Chalice."

[20:49] Prof: Nadia: "Nadia Cross, Gundam Freya, launching!"
[20:50] Lichi: Roger: "Huh? Oh. OHH."
[20:50] Zappa: Gainer (to Tohya) : "No I agree, this is pretty pointless for us to get involved. As if we didn't have enough problems chasing us.

[20:50] Lichi: Roger: "ZWEI SUPER HILDEBRAND, KAISER OF MODERN WAR, GOOOO!!"

[20:50] Lichi: ZweiHilde does its best to fly like Superman.

[20:51] TK: Tohya (to Ichitaka) "You are wearing a normal suit right now right?"

[20:52] TK: Tohya facepalms, "What are you going to do if your cockpit gets breached?"

[20:53] Nerdorama09: The path Celestial Being provided everyone guides you through a large debris field. Past it, you can see the flashes and explosions of combat with perhaps two or three dozen mobile suits flying around, engaged in combat.
[20:53] Zappa: Gainer: Well, I'm heading out. Let's go King Gainer!" And there he goes... zipping off... And mkes a practice break using the photon mat. That works for now... kind of
[20:53] TK: Tohya under his breath, "That's not the point."
[20:54] Prof: Nadia: "Looks like we're pretty badly outnumbered..."
[20:54] Nerdorama09: The fight seems centered around a cylinder surrounded with bright, armored mirror arrays. Much smaller than a colony, perhaps about the size of the Chalice.
[20:54] Aero: Ichitaka: "I guess that's to be expected when we're intervening with 2 factions."
[20:54] vertigojockey@gmail.com: Cheng: "Normally... it would be best to let them kill each other...but considering the mission parameters.."
[20:55] Ethan: Setsuna: "It's not a problem."
[20:55] TK: Tohya "We might not be. Some of them might disarm right?"
[20:56] Prof: Nadia: "We should probably try to minimize pilot deaths if we don't want to end up fighting both factions."
[20:56] TK: Tohya is really hoping all of them disarm. But he kind of knows that won't happen... at least Adventus will probably attack on principle.
[20:56] Aero: Ichitaka: "Disabling when we can huh..."

[20:59] TK: Tohya just ignores Ichitaka, "Weren't we going to order them to disarm?"

[21:00] Ethan: Setsuna's been ignoring everyone for a few minutes.
[21:00] Prof: "Well, might as well give it a shot..."
[21:00] TK: Tohya "I do have the most... obvious mech. Should I be a decoy?"
[21:00] Prof: Nadia opens a public comm channel!
[21:00] TK: He is hating his practicality as he says this, REALLY hating it.
[21:00] Prof: Nadia: "Divine Crusaders and Adventus forces!"

[21:01] Nerdorama09: The fighting barely wavers, but someone definitely hears Nadia.
[21:01] Prof: Nadia: "This is the White Chalice! Please stand down! We can save a lot of lives by ending this battle peacefully!"
[21:01] Aero: Ichitakas jaw drops.
[21:01] TK: Tohya did she just announce that we were the White Chalice!?
[21:01] Zappa: Gainer: "Well that's one way to do it. Hoepfully it'll work
[21:01] TK: Tohya facepalms.
[21:02] Nerdorama09: After a few moments, Nadia receives no response. However, four each of the Lions and the Advents do break off and start heading for your position.
[21:02] Zappa: Can King Gainer's face lines make question marks? It tries...
[21:02] Prof: Nadia: "Er..."
[21:03] Aero: Ichitaka: "Regroup with us before they get too close."
[21:03] TK: Tohya sighs, 'gotta survive' he thinks.
[21:04] vertigojockey@gmail.com: Cheng: had a look of anger on his face. Nadia was going to get a talking to after this.
[21:04] Ethan: Setsuna readies the GN Sword and almost wordlessly weaves through the gunfire Nadia invited in a trail of GN Particles. "...I am a Gundam."
[21:04] Zappa: Gainer: "You're what? No, you're piloting a Gundam..."
[21:05] Aero: Ichitaka: "It's a cool line!"
[21:05] Ethan: * Setsuna takes a slash at one of the enemies breaking form and wheels around to hit two in the same motion. +
[21:05] Nerdorama09: (Any preference for Lions vs. Advents?)
[21:05] Lichi: Roger: "What's a Gundam again?"
[21:06] Zappa: Gainer: "That's the name of the machine he's piloting."
[21:06] Ethan: (One of each.)
[21:07] TK: Tohya facepalms again. Then again, he's one to talk, what with how he... adjusted his attack names.
[21:08] Nerdorama09: [Setsuna] There's still a bit of a gap between the two groups by the time Setsuna reaches them, but his Gundam's superior speed lets him slash off a Lion's railgun-arm and smash his sword into an Advent's hastily-raised shield, shattering it. The Advent is staggered, but the Lion attempts to close with a combat knife on Exia's back. (React)
[21:09] Nerdorama09: The other six units continue charging toward the rest of the team, and the remaining mobile suits continue their battle in the background.
[21:09] Nerdorama09: (Nadia)
[21:10] *** Steam has left the chat.
[21:10] Prof: Freya's shield shifts in alignment, rotating until it's parallel with the Gundam's forearm. Then, as she thrusts away from the oncoming units, two beam cannons extend from the sides of the shield, and she opens fire towards the Advents several times.+
[21:11] Ethan: * Never attack a ninja from behind. Even if it's just a vaguely ninja-themed mobile suit. Setsuna whirls around again and puts his considerably larger blade in the Lion's path.

[21:12] Nerdorama09: [Setsuna] The DC pilot manages to impale his lion on the sword, and seeing the better part of valor, rants about the glory of the Divine Crusaders as he ejects and his Lion collapses.
[21:13] Nerdorama09: [Nadia] The Advents scatter, but one is clipped heavily by the beam fire. The other two retaliate, one firing a large beam weapon of its own from a shoulder-mounted cannon, the other firing what appears to be a handheld grenade launcher at Freya (react)

[21:14] Nerdorama09: (Ichitaka support)
[21:15] Nerdorama09: Meanwhile, the three remaining Lions in the attack group fire their rail guns in a volley, aiming for the largest target, Hildebrand (react Roger)
[21:15] Aero: Ichitaka rushes forwards,the hex like shield opening again getting in the way of the beam and grenade launcher with the Laplace Wall fully up covering him and the Freya.
[21:15] Nerdorama09: In the background, one of the Lions explodes to an Advent's beam cannon.
[21:15] Nerdorama09: (Tohya)
[21:18] Nerdorama09: [Ichitaka/Nadia] The Laplace Wall successfully absorbs the beam attack, but does little against the grenade, which magnetically latches to Rushbird's arm before exploding and damaging the armor on the defense arm.
[21:18] Nerdorama09: Gundam Freya is undamaged
[21:18] Prof: Nadia: "Sorry!"
[21:19] Aero: Ichitaka: "Don't worry about it just be careful..." Now he knew that it didn't work on grenades.
[21:19] TK: *Not really having any ranged options, Tohya has the Coustwell charge forward and cover it's fists with sparkly crystal! "Sparkle Fist!" He yells, mostly to try it out out as he charges a Lions shooting Hildebrand. He then proceeds to punch it. Assuming he hits, he proceeds to keep punching it until it either gets away from him or stops moving. Seeing as he doesn't know where the cockpit it... he isn't particularly trying to avoid hitting it. +

[21:21] Nerdorama09: Coustwell takes a glancing hit from the railgun at point-blank, but otherwise overwhelms the lighter mech until it has to boost back out of range, still in the fight, but banged up good.

[21:23] TK: Tohya "Ichitaka, you okay?"
[21:24] Nerdorama09: Away from your current area, the Peregrine-class takes a beam cannon potshot at an Advent near one of the armored mirrors, missing the mech and damaging the mirror array slightly.
[21:24] TK: For the record, he's got Katia as his sub pilot right now.
[21:24] Lichi: Roger: "Now now, I'm not even sure they can do much to my Super Hildebrandium armor, but thanks, son!"
[21:24] Aero: Ichitaka: "Just some light damage on the armor but otherwise I'm fine."
[21:24] Prof: Nadia: "The satellite's taking damage!"
[21:25] Aero: Ichitaka: I'll go defend the satellite from the ship.
[21:25] TK: Tohya "Be careful, all it'll take is on crack to the cockpit seal and you'll be in trouble." Worrying about Ichitaka gives him something to think about.
[21:25] TK: Tohya "I'll go with him."

[21:26] Nerdorama09: (Too far away, but you can move there on your turn)

[21:27] Nerdorama09: [Roger] The railgund don't do much damage to Zwei Hildebrand beyond chipping the paint and being annoying

[21:27] Aero: Ichitaka: "Um Cheng right, my machine will be able to absorb the beam fire from that ship and I can get over there faster. Please leave it to me."
[21:28] TK: Tohya "Don't worry, I'll back him up."
[21:28] TK: Tohya "Gainer, you're with me right?"
[21:28] Lichi: *Roger gives his all ... at defending the satelite!
[21:28] Lichi: ZweiHilde is barreling in towards the satelite to try and get there and protect it, its shields double kaisering, as if teleporting, to absorb any stray shots or damage to the satelite that he can manage.+
[21:29] Zappa: *Gainer loads up the chain gun and zips over, trying to come up on the blind side of the Lion Tohya was just beating on. He'll close the distance, taking three shorts at it's arms and legs.+

[21:29] Aero: Ichitaka is in awe. "That machine can teleport?"
[21:29] TK: Tohya "You too."
[21:29] Lichi: ((It is actually in two places at once))
[21:30] Lichi: ((But where the second one is keeps changing)0
[21:30] Lichi: ((The double appears to teleport))
[21:30] TK: Tohya would do a double take at that, but he has more important things to worry about.
[21:30] Nerdorama09: [Roger] Zwei Hilde can absorb some of the stray railgun fire heading toward the satellite. It doesn't really look like the DC is aiming at it, though, and the Advents are sticking close to the surface of the object.
[21:31] Aero: Ichitaka (To Tohya and Roger): I'll defend you from stray shots from the DC ship but you'll have to take care of the Advents on it.
[21:32] Nerdorama09: [Gainer] Gainer successfully machine-guns off the Lion's arms (ROFUPI ROFUPI ROFUPI). However, the DC pilot, not to be deterred, charges forward and attempts to kick King Gainer with its admittedly flimsy legs. "Might makes right!" (react)
[21:32] Nerdorama09: (Ichitaka)
[21:32] TK: Tohya (to Ichitaka) "Just be careful. That field of yours doesn't protect you from everything."
[21:33] Lichi: Roger: Appreciated, but cover pinky over there! Hilde can take it, and I... think? I can handle the rough ride."
[21:33] TK: Tohya grumbles at being called pinky, but doesn't say anything.
[21:34] Zappa: *"No it doesn't!" Gainer has mad gamer skills, and intends to counter by totally dodging the kick and bringing his Chaingun Sword down on the extended leg.

[21:34] Aero: *Ichitaka charges up the thrusters using the energy gotten from the previous beam shot. "Yeah I know." Activating the Laplace Wall again it seems to form a half dome around him as he rushes to the Satellite. +
[21:35] Zappa: Gainer would laugh at Roger's joke but... it's "game time" now
[21:35] Nerdorama09: [Gainer] Given that it's a Lion vs. King Gainer, the Lion ends up sailing past Gainer sans three limbs and likely retreating to its command ship.

[21:36] Nerdorama09: [Ichitaka] Rushbird rushes toward the satellite! (Go ahead and Tohya support I guess)

[21:37] Nerdorama09: 9 Lions, 12 Advents (2 damaged), Peregrine (not a target, but still there)
[21:37] TK: *Tohya follows the Rushbird at it's flank. Watching for stray attacks which he knows Ichitaka won't avoid. +
[21:39] Nerdorama09: [Ichitaka and Tohya] The two teenagers make it to nearer the satellite, where they're met with several Advents firing more of those grenade/limpet mines. They seem to have noticed beams not doing anything to Rushbird (react to a cloud of magnetic mines, Ichitaka and Tohya)

[21:42] TK: *Tohya responds to the Magnetic Mines with crystalline fists... now renamed Glitter Knuckle! AS MUCH GLITTER KNUCKLE AS HE CAN! (That's O Shot for the record, though Glitter Knucke is a pretty apt description of what the attack does). They are aimed at the mines. Being that he is panicking, he does not yell out his attack name. +
[21:42] Lichi: *ZweiHilde Kaiser's double appears before the mines for an instant, and begins using its own electromagnets to pull the mines towards itself!+

However, the two remaining Lions near him close in and attack, one with a combat knife, one with a chainsaw sword (react Cheng)
[21:43] TK: For the record, Tohya does not stop throwing Glitter Knuckles when Hildebrand gets in the way. He is pretty sure it can take it, Coustwell, obviously cannot take the mines.

[22:54] Aero: *Ichitaka rushes out to get the attention of all of the Advents leaving himself completely open to fire he begins to charge the Light Blazer trying to get the Advents to fire at him. He knew they wouldn't use their beam cannons so he had to trust that Tohya would take care of the grenades.&
[22:56] TK: *Tohya is flanking the Rushbird, readying more Glitter Knuckles to intercept any Grenades. &
[22:56] Nerdorama09: [Ichitaka] The Advents fire some grenades - the last that they have. Several machine gun bullets and one desperate beam (which can be absorbed) hit the Rushbird, doing light damage. The grenades that do come explode nearby to Tohya's crystal spam

Using it as a giant lever, he tries to RIP as much of the armor plating, mines and all off of it, and throw it into space! +

[21:12] Nerdorama09: [Setsuna] The DC pilot manages to impale his lion on the sword, and seeing the better part of valor, rants about the glory of the Divine Crusaders as he ejects and his Lion collapses.
[21:13] Nerdorama09: [Nadia] The Advents scatter, but one is clipped heavily by the beam fire. The other two retaliate, one firing a large beam weapon of its own from a shoulder-mounted cannon, the other firing what appears to be a handheld grenade launcher at Freya (react)

[21:19] Aero: Ichitaka: "Don't worry about it just be careful..." Now he knew that it didn't work on grenades.

He yells, mostly to try it out out as he charges a Lions shooting Hildebrand. He then proceeds to punch it. Assuming he hits, he proceeds to keep punching it until it either gets away from him or stops moving. Seeing as he doesn't know where the cockpit it... he isn't particularly trying to avoid hitting it. +

[22:56] Nerdorama09: [Ichitaka] The Advents fire some grenades - the last that they have. Several machine gun bullets and one desperate beam (which can be absorbed) hit the Rushbird, doing light damage. The grenades that do come explode nearby to Tohya's crystal spam
