Background: Thirty two years ago, a highly regarded geneticist named Gin Stromfeld teamed up with a bio-engineer named Selena Rynser to research and develop the perfect biological/technological interface for the United States military. The two fell in love and married in five years time. Life was hectic for them, but they cherished every minute of it. Every night they would work hand in hand until the wee hours of the morning for the military contract. Eventually, they created a successful bio/techno interface that allowed perfect synergy between the machine and the user. However, there was an unfortunate side effect called "damage transfer." Before the Damage Transfer bug was ever addressed, there was a major accident in the facility. Gin and Selena made it out of the burning research labs with various injuries. Gin had lost an arm, and Selena had a serious wound on her stomach and was losing blood quickly. Selena and her unborn child did not survive that night.

With the loss of his beloved wife and unborn child, Gin Stromfeld was driven into a state of madness. He took the unborn child and proceeded to clone it, creating his son Samael. He gave his son everything: the brains of a genious, a vast array of knowledge, his experience, his memories, and his entire estate. Thusly, Samael grew up as a spoiled brat with an intense hatred of "actual" humans aka those who were born by natural means fueled by this unwarranted hatred. Samael quickly grew more more and more mad and had begun planning the domination of mankind. Gin eventually realized that he had made a mistake and had begun to regret ever creating Samael, so on Samael's tenth birthday Gin had planned to do him in. Unfortunately the colony drops occurred and Gin had died due to the bombardment, and Samael lived on with the know how and resources to create his own army of lovecraftian monsters called Artificials. It took 15 years of preparations, but Samael's army of monsters had been completed...... They then turned on him and killed him, and with his death goes the main plot and replaces it with a monster of the week plot.

Gin, in his madness or brilliance had one last trick up his sleeve, a backup to deal with Samael's plans incase Gin were to fail. This was known as "Project Victory," yet again a clone based theory. This time instead of his unborn son, this clone was a genetic cross between Gin himself and several variations of lizards. Along with this, he had left behind a biological/technological mecha with the prototype bio/techno interface. This mech was named "Zilla" and was designed that only this clone could pilot it. Gin ingrained two things into the memories of the "Victory Clone." Those were a desire to hunt down the unknown enemy and how to use the Zilla.

Years had passed by as the clone grew and developed in its tube in the facility, forgotten by time. That is, until a resident of a nearby orphanage that had been built had decided to explore and found a "person" in a tube. The head of the orphanage let him out of the tube in the barely functioning facilty and named him "Victor" (the y had fallen off the tube containing him, so it said "Project Victor.") He stayed at the orphanage for two years, but his ingrained desires to find and destroy unknown enemies had caused him to leave with his mecha loaded onto a stolen barge.
