SRWUG@ Applications
Application Rules
- Before you can post or comment with a character in either comm, you must apply and be accepted here.
- Each player is be limited to 6 characters. However, provided a player has six characters and maintained good activity for all of them, they may request a seventh slot. In the event they drop a character though, they will have to request the seventh slot again. More details on the seventh slot can be found here.
- Furthermore, after introducing a new canon to the RP, each player will have to wait at least one full activity cycle before they may do so again.
- When posting an app, please put the character name and whether the character was reserved in the comment subject
- You may not app characters who are Reserved, Taken or serve a primarily antagonistic role without working something out with the mods first - please read those two entries first, along with the FAQ if you're new.
- The template is below, note that depending on what kind of character you are apping you may be able to ignore some portions of the template.
- You must fill out all sections marked REQUIRED; other sections are optional or may not be relevant to your character.
- Please note that the Unit/Flagship sections are required if you want to have one, and should be written in your own words. Supplemental links to wikis or MAHQ are fine, but only as supplements; we need to know you can play your unit in combat just like we need to know you can play your character in RP.
- Before writing the app, it is extremely important that you familiarize yourself with the world of UG@ and read the wiki. The world is not a blank slate for you to work with; it is a specific post-apocalyptic setting with a large amount of predetermined backstory and as a result, there are some things which simply will not be found in it
- If you want to app an OC (original character), please view the section below the app template.
- Any character for which canon review would be difficult and/or require a large amount of money (such as video games and untranslated works, fan translations are usually okay) requires a full write up, using the rules outlined for Original Characters below.
- For notes on each specific section click here.
- Due to UG@ entering endgame, limitations on applying new canons come into effect. These affect only already-established players who have characters in the game, not new players. Details are here.
The Application (Copy and paste this, then fill it out.)
Original Characters
- The most important thing to remember when designing your original character: your OC can't do everything. As well, be reasonable with your character's powers: the "power level" here is pretty high, but try to be self-consistent at least.
- Your original character must be detailed enough that we can run a game with them, and show us that you have put enough thought into the character that you know them as well as you would know any other character that someone else made up. While we don't necessarily expect you to not make up anything on the fly while RPing your OC, we do need them to have enough definition in the first place that they don't become your personal "whatever is convenient at the time" spouting device.
- The above also means we reserve the right to ask for longer or more detailed Personality and/or Background section, simply to make sure we have a full idea of the character without canon review to fall back on.
- The mech/battleship and capabilities/resources sections are just as, if not more, important than background and personality, if they're applicable to your character. Also, a physical description of its appearance is highly encouraged.
- If your OC is written using plot devices from another canon, please make sure you ask the player's playing from those canons first. Some things are assumed to be part of the setting as opposed to any particular canon, so being a Coordinator, Newtype, Psychodriver or what not is generally okay so long as you aren't a super special example. Anything more specific, such as being a member of such and such organization or having been at a historical event definitely needs permission.
- You need an event list if you want events, and your event list needs to be a little more detailed than for a canon character for the same reasons as personality and background.
- The sample post section may take several forms for non-OCs, but for original characters we ask for a post on
testrun_box. This is to ensure you have a good grip on your character's personality and how to roleplay them.

Mission 1: Call to Arms
In Space Colony 8088, known locally as Rauha, armed conflict breaks out for the first time. A group of Raptors from another colony invade on a false premise, and the local defense force's Argos are having a hard time of protecting their home. In the crossfire, a certain local college campus is all but destroyed - Nadia Cross's home university. The experimental unit Gundam Freya was in the process of being moved to a safer location when the area was hit, leaving it unprotected and without a pilot. Nadia, recognizing this as the Gundam she was to inherit eventually, jumps in, and uses it to fight off the invading forces. The enemy force's leader, piloting a customized blue Raptor, takes note of this new machine, but doesn't engage it, preferring a retreat given the circumstances.
Mission 2: Blue Hurricane
The rapidly-assembling Midgard moves to break up a battle between two Space Colonies, again fighting for a false cause. As soon as they do, however, they are attacked by a group of Raptors intent on stopping them from stopping the war. The leader, identified only as the Blue Hurricane, engages Nadia in his custom Raptor, proving himself to be the superior pilot by far - Nadia only escapes intact due to the superior capabilities and defenses of her Gundam. Truman learns Nadia's full name during the battle, realizing that she’s his former ally's daughter.
Log: Some time while Nadia's on foot, Truman finds her, and they have a talk. Truman reveals his connection to her father, and tries to get her to join Codex Regius. It does not work.
Mission 3: Knights of Asgard
The White Chalice has now been identified as a priority target by Codex Regius! This comes to light in the form of an attacking squadron of three custom mobile suits and one custom mobile armor, calling themselves the Asgard Squadron. The leader, Reza Styger, delivers an ultimatum before attacking Nadia - every 30 seconds she fights back, he'll destroy a random civilian building. Nadia manages to defensive support a lot of times to save the civilians, but takes a ton of damage before Asgard can be fended off or escaped.
Mission 4: Codex Regius
Asgard returns again, this time backed up by a legion of Raptors, led by Truman in his new ultra-agile machine, the Raptorfaust. An intense battle ensues, with Nadia dueling Truman - this time, with her now Reflector Shield, they're almost equal. The enormous Asgard 3 tries to destroy the White Chalice, one of the Asgards is likely destroyed, and a retreat is forced.
Mission 5: The Flames of Battle
The final battle is pitched against Codex Regius, and the location is back at Rauha! Codex's leader, Levente, aims to collide another populated space colony with Nadia's home, wiping out everyone living on both. An epic battle ensues, with tons of Raptors, the Raptorfaust, everything that remains of the Asgard Squadron, and Levente's personal Mobile Armor, the Rati. As the Rati is damaged, at great effort, it purges the outer attachments, revealing the MS-like core unit, Ratatoskr. Ultimately, the Asgard Squadron is wiped out except for Reza, who escapes; Truman is just barely overcome by Nadia, and also retreats; and Levente is killed, leaving the remnants of Codex Regius leaderless. Nadia gives an epic garspeech to appeal to the humanity of the Codex mooks, and enough of them are convince to help that they are able to avert the colony collision. Season 1 end.

Our heroes find an under-construction anti-colony weapon being built in space, aimed at Rauha! The good guys deploy, and find a fleet of battleships and Balaurs waiting for them, resulting in very heavy resistance, possibly aided by another group from another canon. Nadia manages to break through alone as time runs short, but finds two familiar faces waiting for her at the core - Truman, in the Raptorfaust, and Reza Styger, in the newly revealed Hel 0. Truman's beam weaponry has been upgraded, and Hel 0 can cut through Freya's armor and shield easily... in short, Freya is torn apart, and the weapon fires before it can be disabled, destroying Nadia's home colony. At this moment, Lachlan Kasimara makes a declaration to the world, revealing the existence and objective of Yggdrasil.
Mission 7: Heaven's Cage
An Yggdrasil attack force, led by Truman, waits until a major battle is going on to get a chance to strike decisively at the White Chalice. His backup is enough to keep everyone off of him long enough to charge his new Anti-Ship Beam Cannon... but at the moment of truth, Nadia launches in the completed Gundam Ragnarok, and uses the BDS to save the White Chalice. With her new weapon, Nadia charges down the Raptorfaust, and destroys it completely, Truman barely escaping with his life.
Mission 8: Yggdrasil's Ambition
Reza Styger is back, this time with the full Hel Squadron, to destroy Midgard and the White Chalice! Thanks to Hel 2 hacking into Gundam Frigg's Reconstructor System, they have a complete tactical advantage, striking whenever someone is weakened, distracted, or low on ammo or energy. Furthermore, Truman is back in a new machine, the Deinonychus, which uses no beam weapons, making the BDS useless. At some point, one of the enemies lets slip that the primary goal of the operation is to obtain Gundam Ragnarok - at which point Nadia threatens to self-destruct it, making the mission a failure. With the enemy's mission objective now in jeopardy, Nadia retreats to lure away Yggdrasil, and goes MIA.

Final Mission: Twilight of the Gods
The necessity for this mission is discovered when a space colony is destroyed in a single shot by a laser fired from the Earth's surface. The weapon is Nidhogg, a powerful laser fortress designed to destroy space installations by firing at a BDS field satellite and redirecting from there. The White Chalice is on Earth at the time, so an attack is launched against the Nidhogg itself, where most of Yggdrasil's forces are remaining - Balaurs, Raptors, MP Ratis, and the Hel Squadron. Nadia, however, is revealed to be in space, where she intends to take on the BDS Satellite by herself. This plan is interrupted, however, by the Deinonychus, which grapples onto Gundam Ragnarok and drags it downwards into the atmosphere. Nadia and Truman let loose their ideals in a final duel during atmospheric reentry. Finally, decisively, if by a small margin, Nadia defeats her father's old friend, just as the damaged Ragnarok is entering Earth airspace above the Nidhogg and battlefield below.
In an attempt to prevent a third firing of Nidhogg (it's already fired twice by now, meaning two dead colonies), the good guys attempt a massive convergence of beam attacks all at once point on the fortress's armor... but something stops it, deflecting all the beams away! It's a cluster of BDS Sentinels, which return after blocking the attack to their master: Gundam Fenrir, piloted by Lachlan Kasimara. Armed with a pair of extremely powerful beam rifles that double as swords, sixteen all-directional beam turrets, and sixteen BDS field sentinels, it seems like it might be more than enough to take on all of Yggdrasil's enemies. However, with some strategy, brute force, and a lot of fighting spirit, Gundam Fenrir ultimately falls. As his mech falls apart around him, Lachlan's last words are that he's still won as long as Nidhogg continues to operate - which is a problem, as its armor is nearly impenetrable, and its charging a fourth shot. This is when Nadia takes her ultimate gamble, hurling Gundam Ragnarok directly into Nidhogg's beam. Using the BDS, she bends the beam all around her own mech, searing off all the limbs and nearly taking out the rest, all to ultimately turn the beam back at Nidhogg. Ragnarok's power is completely depleted, and as it falls, Nadia's last thoughts before she loses consciousness are that she was finally able to truly change the fate of the Earth Sphere.
