SRWUG@ Applications

Application Rules
  • Before you can post or comment with a character in either comm, you must apply and be accepted here.
  • Each player is be limited to 6 characters. However, provided a player has six characters and maintained good activity for all of them, they may request a seventh slot. In the event they drop a character though, they will have to request the seventh slot again. More details on the seventh slot can be found here.
  • Furthermore, after introducing a new canon to the RP, each player will have to wait at least one full activity cycle before they may do so again.
  • When posting an app, please put the character name and whether the character was reserved in the comment subject
  • You may not app characters who are Reserved, Taken or serve a primarily antagonistic role without working something out with the mods first - please read those two entries first, along with the FAQ if you're new.
  • The template is below, note that depending on what kind of character you are apping you may be able to ignore some portions of the template.
  • You must fill out all sections marked REQUIRED; other sections are optional or may not be relevant to your character.
  • Please note that the Unit/Flagship sections are required if you want to have one, and should be written in your own words. Supplemental links to wikis or MAHQ are fine, but only as supplements; we need to know you can play your unit in combat just like we need to know you can play your character in RP.
  • Before writing the app, it is extremely important that you familiarize yourself with the world of UG@ and read the wiki. The world is not a blank slate for you to work with; it is a specific post-apocalyptic setting with a large amount of predetermined backstory and as a result, there are some things which simply will not be found in it
  • If you want to app an OC (original character), please view the section below the app template.
  • Any character for which canon review would be difficult and/or require a large amount of money (such as video games and untranslated works, fan translations are usually okay) requires a full write up, using the rules outlined for Original Characters below.
  • For notes on each specific section click here.
  • Due to UG@ entering endgame, limitations on applying new canons come into effect. These affect only already-established players who have characters in the game, not new players. Details are here.

The Application (Copy and paste this, then fill it out.)

Original Characters
  • The most important thing to remember when designing your original character: your OC can't do everything. As well, be reasonable with your character's powers: the "power level" here is pretty high, but try to be self-consistent at least.
  • Your original character must be detailed enough that we can run a game with them, and show us that you have put enough thought into the character that you know them as well as you would know any other character that someone else made up. While we don't necessarily expect you to not make up anything on the fly while RPing your OC, we do need them to have enough definition in the first place that they don't become your personal "whatever is convenient at the time" spouting device.
  • The above also means we reserve the right to ask for longer or more detailed Personality and/or Background section, simply to make sure we have a full idea of the character without canon review to fall back on.
  • The mech/battleship and capabilities/resources sections are just as, if not more, important than background and personality, if they're applicable to your character. Also, a physical description of its appearance is highly encouraged.
  • If your OC is written using plot devices from another canon, please make sure you ask the player's playing from those canons first. Some things are assumed to be part of the setting as opposed to any particular canon, so being a Coordinator, Newtype, Psychodriver or what not is generally okay so long as you aren't a super special example. Anything more specific, such as being a member of such and such organization or having been at a historical event definitely needs permission.
  • You need an event list if you want events, and your event list needs to be a little more detailed than for a canon character for the same reasons as personality and background.
  • The sample post section may take several forms for non-OCs, but for original characters we ask for a post on [community profile] testrun_box. This is to ensure you have a good grip on your character's personality and how to roleplay them.

Hua Cheng Kwan

[identity profile] vjockey.livejournal.com 2011-07-01 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Jockey (Or Jock, Jockstrap, V. Whichever you feel is more hilarious/appropriate)
Personal LJ: Vjockey (made one just for this)
AIM Contact: VJockey
Character Name: Hua Cheng Kwan
Source Canon: Ironlock (OC)
Community Tag: "hua cheng kwan"

Notes: N/A

Background: Another son in the distinguished line of a military family, he was named Hua Cheng – the meaning of the name being Magnificent Accomplishment. It was an amusing irony given the fact that his preference was to support others rather than to take the lead and limelight. As all males born to his family he joined the state’s military academy and was perhaps one of the most average students to grace their halls, going slightly above his usual norm in tactics and team based activities – if only because he felt that others were depending on him.

With the advent of Combat-Frame technology there was a great demand for pilots in the state, and given the fact that it was a great demand Cheng was in no place to argue. While others made names for themselves with daring tactics and manuevers, Cheng made his own by being the one that stayed behind to provide support fire and doing his best to provide for his teammates. However as time passed the state had collapsed in on itself, torn by the corruption within its inner workings, the struggles of those who held power as well as the riots caused by the constant pressure the government put on its people to continue to keep itself alive in the brutal free-for-all that blazed across the world.

With his brothers-in-arms at each other’s throats and his family dead and gone for supporting the wrong person Cheng left the corpse of his homeland behind, working as a guard for a smattering of civilians and suffering a lack of direction and an immense sense of loss. He lost his country, his family, his friends and comrades as well as his reason for fighting. It was no wonder he joined up with the crew with how desperate he was to find a purpose.

Cont.

[identity profile] vjockey.livejournal.com 2011-07-01 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: Cheng is as calm and friendly as any other person, what sets him apart is that he is easily embarrassed by praise and is modest to the point of constantly depreciating himself. It is the way that he was schooled and taught, he sees himself more a gear in a greater machine. That being said he has something of a follower’s mentality, rarely taking initiative in any place that is not the battlefield.

He is not the most social of people, prior to the collapse of his home he limited his contact to his family, his squad-mates and the mechanics that worked with his unit. That being said however he is also tenaciously loyal, willing to take hits, sacrifice personal dignity and glory as well as charge in headlong into certain death to the rare few he does connect with.

That being said, he takes the criticisms of his teammates often far more harshly than they were intended to be, more often than not feeling that all of the problems and difficulties in the team could be traced back to him. There will often be the odd occasion in which he crafts a convoluted scenario in which all the team’s ills from combat injuries to hangovers and stubbed toes can be traced to him and then proceeds to beg for forgiveness.

Capabilities and Resources: As mentioned before Cheng is by all means an average soldier, pilot and tactician. Hand-to-hand, weapons training, the standard fare one would expect. He is somewhat more observant than others though not to an amazing degree.

Gai Murakumo | Gundam Seed Astray

[identity profile] gespy-punch.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Green Flame
Personal LJ: gespy_punch
AIM Contact: Spirit of Justice
Character Name: Gai Murakumo
Source Canon: Gundam Seed Astray
Community Tag: Gai Murakumo Gundam Seed Astray

Background: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Gai_Murakumo

Personality: Gai Murakumo is a man who always keeps his cool, staying calm and logical no matter the circumstances. At the same time, Gai also assists those he considers a worthy ally, or in the case of Lowe, a good friend should they be in need. An added bonus for providing assistance is if they’re against mission target. For the members of his mercenary outfit, Gai maintains a friendly yet professional relationship as he makes sure that any personal actions they take he won’t interfere with so long as it doesn’t affect the present mission.

True to mercenary ideology, Gai will take nearly any mission so long as he’s well paid and complete them with a high success rate. However Gai has been known to refuse certain missions if he finds the customer bothersome or he owes a debt to someone else. In the event he is double crossed, Gai often eliminates the double-crosser before they get a chance to flee.

In battle Gai is always focused on his task and has rarely, if ever, been caught off guard with no contingency plan. In the event one of Serpent Tail’s members comes under fire Gai won’t hesitate to come to their aid, even coming up with plans on the fly to rescue them. The Serpent Tail members also have the same mindset towards Gai, operating on similar wavelengths in hostage situations.

Despite being a former Combat Coordinator, Gai seemingly holds no ill will towards the Earth Alliance that forced him into their armed services as he frequently receives missions from them for escort, infiltration, and bounty hunting. This tends to lead to conflict with certain factions who wish to acquire the secrets of mobile suits but Serpent Tail’s reputation continues to dissuade the majority of factions from hiring less qualified groups.

While his missions lead him into conflict with previous allies, Gai continues to maintain an air of friendly professionalism. It isn’t uncommon for Gai to be fighting to the death with at one moment then sharing a pleasant conversation with his previous target the next. Still, at the end of the day everything is just another job for him to complete.

Capabilities and Resources: As a former Combat Coordinator, Gai sports further increased physical strength and intelligence that traditional coordinators are known for. Additionally, as the leader of the Serpent Tail mercenary, Gai has the aid of a talented team of individuals skilled in, but not limited to, intelligence gathering, demolitions, battle tactics, and public relations.

Robot Name: MBF-P03 Gundam Astray "Blue Frame"
Robot Description: One of three prototype mobile suits developed by Morgenroete in conjunction with the Earth Alliance, the Blue Frame is a lightly armed mobile suit that is nearly identical to sister units Red and Gold Frame, differing only in the abilities of their hand plugs. The Blue Frame’s hand plugs are technically the most unspecialized as they possess no other abilities aside from exchanging data and energy. Initially armed with a pair of head mounted CIWS, a beam saber, a beam rifle, and a shield, the Blue Frame is frequently upgraded in order to complete the mission at hand. As a result, the Blue Frame has a variety of customizations ranging from heavier armaments for more combat intensive missions to equipment designed for underwater warfare.

Side-grades:
Robot Name: MBF-P03 Gundam Astray "Blue Frame" – Scale System
Robot Description: Designed for underwater warfare, the Scale System is equipped with leg boosters to improve underwater mobility, an specially designed underwater rifle, and missile launchers. The underwater rifle is based off the coilgun design, sometimes mistaken as the gauss gun, that fires an electromagnetically charged projectile at high speeds while also puncturing armor. The Scale System, while useful, receives limited use due to the lack of water related missions.

Robot Name: MBF-P03 Gundam Astray "Blue Frame" – Heavy Weapons
Robot Description: Being a prototype with near negligible differences from its brethren, the Blue Frame was lightly armed and dire need of an upgrade to improve its efficiency for the often dangerous missions that Serpent Tail undertakes. The Heavy Weapons loadout includes a pair of leg mounted 3 tube missile launchers, a back mounted 8 tube missile launcher, and 2 M68 "Cattus" 500mm recoilless rifle.

Character Name: Rinon Toros
Source Canon: Zoids New Century /0
Community Tag: rinon toros

Notes: While her app is based on the English version of the series, I use her Japanese name because it’s shown on-screen in romaji (and, I like it better). Also, I have no clue how to merge New Century into the story of the game.

Background:
Rinon Toros is the daughter of Steve “Doc” Toros, and the younger sister of Leon Toros. Her mother died when she was very young, and she doesn’t have any memories of her. She grew up happy with her dad and brother (even if her dad was a bit of a Zoid otaku), and learned to be a Zoid Warrior. Along with Jamie, the son of one of their dad’s friends, and a mercenary named Brad, Leon and Rinon formed the Blitz Team, with Doc serving as team leader/mentor.

The Blitz Team, while somewhat skilled, had a lot of problems. While Leon was a capable pilot, Rinon was far too trigger-happy (and didn’t have much of a sense of aiming), Brad was only in it for the money, and Jamie was too nervous and unsure of his skills. They fought in the Class B, though just barely.

During one battle, Leon was hurt, and his Blade Liger heavily damaged, when it tripped over a salvage unit that was illegally on the battlefield. The Blitz Team took the scavenger, Bit Cloud, captive, but, with the help of the unusable Zoid, Liger Zero, he escaped in the middle of the night. Bit came back during the rematch of the previous day’s battle, registered as a Warrior, and helped them to win. Bit was (grudgingly) accepted as part of the team, and Leon left, wanting to find his own way.

After this, the Blitz Team went on a massive winning streak, led by Bit in the Liger Zero. Rinon fought with the team, though she didn’t really improve her skills much. She attracted the attention of another Warrior named Harry Champ, though his feelings were not reciprocated. The team as a whole also attracted the attention of the Backdraft Group, an illegal organization that used unsanctioned battles to steal Zoids from teams.

After an… embarrassing incident… Rinon ended up kidnapped by the Backdraft, who forced the Blitz Team into a battle to rescue her, but she managed to rescue herself. Another incident with the Backdraft Group left Rinon’s Dibison utterly destroyed, but she quickly replaced it with a stupidly-over-spec’d Gun Sniper.

During one trip into town, a strange man approached her with a bouquet of flowers, saying she was as beautiful as her mother had been, before disappearing. Rinon was confused, but shrugged it off, though it would come up again later.

Harry’s sister Mary showed up at one point, and while she managed to utterly piss off Rinon by saying she wasn’t good enough for her brother (even if Rinon didn’t want him in the first place), the Blitz Team beat them in battle, moving up to Class A.

The team continued fighting, and continued fighting against the Backdraft Group. They also ran into problems with someone calling themself the ‘Chainsaw Man,’ who was specifically targeting Rinon, who had bragged that she was the most powerful Warrior. However, when she realized they weren’t zombies, but Zoids, she went all out.

On her way back from a shopping trip, Rinon was kidnapped, by the same person who’d given her the flowers before. She woke up in a bed full of flowers, and the man, Dr. Layon, knew Doc Toros. Due to an incident when they were younger involving Rinon’s mother, Layon wants revenge on him. Of course, despite the barrier supposedly keeping her trapped, Rinon again managed to escape on her own. She was picked up by Jamie’s dad, who explained to her that all the problems between Toros and Layon were his fault.

Rinon still had to put up with Harry as well, though. He ended up standing her up (due to getting kidnapped) when her father set up a date for her. Later, during a battle with Layon (who had kidnapped Harry), Rinon was pissed off at him for standing her up, and used the Wild Weasel’s full assault to take out the Whale King.

Re: Rinon Toros | 2 of 3

[identity profile] sniper-luver.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Eventually, the time came for the Royal Cup, a tournament of the 98 Class A teams, the top-ranked Class B team, and a wild-card Class B team. This giant tournament would award the winner with tons of prize money, as well as entry into the prestigious Class S. After their third (of five) wins, the Blitz Team was well on their way to discovering the location of the finish line. They ran into the Zaber Fangs team, and Rinon and Jamie were going to battle them on their own, but their opponents’ computers froze as they tripped over the Judge calling them the ‘Fuzzy Pandas’ on accident. However, before they could meet up with Bit and Brad, they came across the Berserk Fury, which quickly took out Jamie, leaving Rinon to fight on her own.

Three Geno Saurs, though, showed up with their Charge Particle Canons to take out the Berserk Fury. The weapons would have taken out Rinon as well, but she was defended both by Harry’s team, as well as Dr Layon. The blast took out the Whale King, but Layon was able to survive. He explained to her about the Ultimate X, before passing out from his injuries.

While they were separated, Bit and Brad had beaten Naomi and Leon, giving the Blitz Team their fifth win, and the last passcode to find the location of the finish line. However, Vega was there as well, and they had to battle to claim the title. With Raynos out of commission, and Gun Sniper apparently out as well, only Liger and Shadow Fox were available to battle. Shadow Fox was also taken out. Berserk Fury was about to take out the Hover Cargo, but the shields held, and Liger Zero fought in one-on-one against the other Ultimate X Zoid. Rinon and the others could only watch, but Bit was able to win, and the Blitz Team moved up to Class S.

Personality:
Rinon is haughty, overbearing, spoiled, self-centered, and stubborn. And those are her good qualities.

Okay, realistically, she’s not that bad. Really, what else can you expect, since she grew up around guys, than for her to grow up as ‘one of the guys.’ Even though women are allowed to be Warriors, it’s primarily a male-dominated world, so she’s had no choice but to ‘toughen up’. And, of course, without her mom around, and with her father the way he is, she’s never really been told ‘no’ enough, either.

Rinon’s pretty full of herself, vastly overstating her abilities which are, while not bad, fairly average. She also doesn’t follow orders well (or listen when people tell her things), constantly wasting ammo because she simply doesn’t pay attention, and has been noted as not being one to learn from her mistakes.

Still, as spoiled as she is, Rinon’s got a good heart. It’s obvious that she cares about her family and friends, and she’s very passionate about Zoids (particularly those with heavy weaponry on them. Of course, her passion isn’t necessarily a good point. She’s also very passionate about food, and will steal it from others, and get pissed when people do the same to her.

Rinon’s biggest flaw is her temper, which has a very short fuse. Well, okay, short might be an understatement. She doesn’t accept insults of any sort, whether they be something she wants or not (case in point, she hates Harry’s advances on her, but can’t stand being considered ‘not good enough’ for him, either). Even accidents are subject to her ire, like when Bit walked in on her in the shower, and Jamie was simply checking on him. Her response? To go chasing down Bit in a Zoid and shooting missiles at him.

However, as ‘tough’ as she is, that’s not to say that she doesn’t have her fears. When she heard rumors about someone called the ‘Chainsaw Man,’ who may or may not be a zombie, she freaked out. Of course, once she figured out that it was all a ruse, she went all out on them, taking her revenge.

Capabilities and Resources: Rinon’s an average skilled Zoid Warrior, and a member of the Blitz Team.

Character Name: Maya
Source Canon: " Revolution : Abraxas "
Community Tag: " Maya? "

Notes: (While this is positioned at the top of the app for our convenience, feel free to add things to it as you go along.)

Background:

Sent to the mod journal.

Personality:

Maya is a curious creature, both in the sense that she is curious about the world and in the sense that she is exceedingly peculiar. For one, she is young and innocent looking, yet not only does she sometimes speaks with the vernacular of someone much older than herself but she also knows bits and pieces of archaic language fallen out of use or half right knowledge of times long before her own.

She cannot, however, explain the source of her spotty knowledge because she is an amnesiac, a fact which immensely defines her experience of life. She knows about somethings, but not others, and she has a sense of wonder for everything in the world (at least for a few minutes; she will take an entirely enthralled affection for a new thing until she becomes utterly bored and distinterested in it). Even when she understands or knows about something as simple or everyday as a sunset, she has no memory seeing such a thing before, and therefore there is a sense of wonder to her about nearly anything

She has a penchant for the philosophical and the surreal, and due to her mixed knoweldge base she may go into peculiar, insightful but still ultimately incorrect interpretations of the world (compare to Elizabeth from Persona 3). Despite her ultimately incorrect assumptions and perceptions convincing her otherwise may be exceedingly difficult; you might say she lives in her own little world.

There is nothing she hates more than boredom, which is unfortunate because if there is nothing around her she considers new, she easily slips into boredom. At these times she will either slovenly laze and grump about, look voraciously for knowledge (still grumping about it though), create mischief (anything is better than boredom), or attempt some form of art. Maya has a penchant for all forms of art, in which she has a great deal of knowledge about techniques, and is very good at explaining them (if she has tha patience to).

Capabilities and Resources: Maya is capable of conjuring her own inner world, and capable of enabling others to do the same by taking another person as her 'muse.' This allows aspects or entire landscapes of one's ever changing inner world manifest over reality, and in turn reality attempts to turn these divine/spiritual/mental constructs back into nothingness, or back into what they should normally be.

Unfortunately, one's inner world is a fickle thing. It is like manifesting a dream in reality: it could be what your dream come true, but it could also be a nightmare, and unless you are adept at transforming your own inner world you cannot control how your inner world manifests upon reality.

Despite its limitations, the fact that its power can defy/over write the world itself (along with its laws) in a given area by bringing them into accordance with one's own inner world and/or imagination/will makes the potential of this power theoretically limitless, if unreliable.

Job: None.

Kallen Kouzuki - Reserved ( 1/? )

[identity profile] radiant-will.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Din
Personal LJ: [livejournal.com profile] cyber_chaos
AIM Contact: Din11152
Character Name: Kallen Kouzuki/Stadtfeld
Source Canon: Code Geass
Community Tag: kallen kouzuki

Notes: Similar to Lelouch-mun’s request: Kallen spends the first few battles in the series piloting an outdated grunt unit. She gets her specialized unit around episode ten, but I’d like her to start off with it for the RP instead of having her be terribly gimped for the first few missions.

Background: http://codegeass.wikia.com/wiki/Kallen_Kōzuki

Personality: Kallen, more than anything, is strong-willed. It is very apparent in how she thinks of the farce that she is forced to live while at school in the first season, where she pretends to be weak, clam and submissive; during a rather hectic student council event that involved high energy and running about, she could be heard cursing her choice to appear docile and unconcerned. In truth, Kallen is the exact opposite of what she appears to be at school--strong, passionate, active, and fierce at times.

Though she could be considered a bit of a tomboy with her physical strength and competitive nature, she does not lose out completely as far as her feminine aspects are concerned. Kallen is not mortally opposed to cute things as whole--the fact that she uses little bunny stickers/magnets to hold her pictures hints at this--and she can be easily flustered and embarrassed. The fact that Kallen ends up the target of fanservice more often than any other character in the show makes her susceptibility to embarrassment clear, but even the use of any words with a vaguely romantic connotation can draw a reaction out of her. She also possesses a degree of naivety.

As for conviction, Kallen has a lot of it. She wants to free Japan for the sake of her brother and her mother, and nothing is going to stop her. She doesn’t just want it to happen, either. She wants to be part of it, to compete for it, to fight for it. Hand-in-hand with her rock-solid conviction stands also her unshakable loyalty--to Japan, its people, and, of course, Zero. The only blemish in her perfect record appears when she abandons Lelouch while he is staring down Suzaku, just as is identity is revealed. Otherwise, Kallen shows undying loyalty toward the masked man, always energetically supporting and defending him and his actions. Though, in Kallen’s mind, this breach of loyalty would most likely stem from the fact that--as soon as the mask fell off--the “Zero” entity was replaced with the “Lelouch” entity; to the latter, Kallen had no loyalty to speak of.

In Code Geass R2, there is shown briefly the results of a ability/personality test of sorts. Kallen maxes out on loyalty and combat ability, but scores lower on intelligence and charisma. She is not stupid, however, as Rivalz mentions that she is one of Ashford Academy’s top students, though she is not particularly intellectual. She also has a tendency toward rashness and impatience, and sometimes the instinct to try and do too much. These instincts are portrayed most prominently on the battlefield.

Capabilities and Resources: In the Code Geass universe, Kallen is a top tier Knightmare Frame pilot—one of the few in the world who can operate a high-spec machine like the Guren.

Robot Name: Guren Mk-II
Robot Description: http://codegeass.wikia.com/wiki/Guren_Mk-II
The Guren is a small, land-based unit that relies on speed and close range combat. Its primary weapon is the Radiant Wave Surger, equipped to its right arm in the form of a metallic claw. The claw latches itself onto enemy units then releases a literal surge of radiation that warps the target and causes it to explode. It can also be used as a makeshift shield. Other weapons include:
-One Slash Harken; a standard Knightmare weapon that acts like a large grappling hook (can also be used offensively)
-One arm cannon; on off hand, provides light machine gun fire
-One combat knife; also off hand

Now equipped with a Glide System, the Guren is able to fight speedily and nimbly in the air. Its weapons are also upgraded, including increased abilities of the Radiant Wave Surger. Upgrades include:
-Added range to the Radiant Wave Surger. Can be fired in an intense beam, or in a wide spread to disable a number of enemies.
-12 Missile Launchers; can also hold a Gefjun Net, which can disable units powered by Sakuradite (i.e. other lower generation Knightmare Frames).

Notes:

Background: Thirty two years ago, a highly regarded geneticist named Gin Stromfeld teamed up with a bio-engineer named Selena Rynser to research and develop the perfect biological/technological interface for the United States military. The two fell in love and married in five years time. Life was hectic for them, but they cherished every minute of it. Every night they would work hand in hand until the wee hours of the morning for the military contract. Eventually, they created a successful bio/techno interface that allowed perfect synergy between the machine and the user. However, there was an unfortunate side effect called "damage transfer." Before the Damage Transfer bug was ever addressed, there was a major accident in the facility. Gin and Selena made it out of the burning research labs with various injuries. Gin had lost an arm, and Selena had a serious wound on her stomach and was losing blood quickly. Selena and her unborn child did not survive that night.

With the loss of his beloved wife and unborn child, Gin Stromfeld was driven into a state of madness. He took the unborn child and proceeded to clone it, creating his son Samael. He gave his son everything: the brains of a genious, a vast array of knowledge, his experience, his memories, and his entire estate. Thusly, Samael grew up as a spoiled brat with an intense hatred of "actual" humans aka those who were born by natural means fueled by this unwarranted hatred. Samael quickly grew more more and more mad and had begun planning the domination of mankind. Gin eventually realized that he had made a mistake and had begun to regret ever creating Samael, so on Samael's tenth birthday Gin had planned to do him in. Unfortunately the colony drops occurred and Gin had died due to the bombardment, and Samael lived on with the know how and resources to create his own army of lovecraftian monsters called Artificials. It took 15 years of preparations, but Samael's army of monsters had been completed...... They then turned on him and killed him, and with his death goes the main plot and replaces it with a monster of the week plot.

Gin, in his madness or brilliance had one last trick up his sleeve, a backup to deal with Samael's plans incase Gin were to fail. This was known as "Project Victory," yet again a clone based theory. This time instead of his unborn son, this clone was a genetic cross between Gin himself and several variations of lizards. Along with this, he had left behind a biological/technological mecha with the prototype bio/techno interface. This mech was named "Zilla" and was designed that only this clone could pilot it. Gin ingrained two things into the memories of the "Victory Clone." Those were a desire to hunt down the unknown enemy and how to use the Zilla.

Years had passed by as the clone grew and developed in its tube in the facility, forgotten by time. That is, until a resident of a nearby orphanage that had been built had decided to explore and found a "person" in a tube. The head of the orphanage let him out of the tube in the barely functioning facilty and named him "Victor" (the y had fallen off the tube containing him, so it said "Project Victor.") He stayed at the orphanage for two years, but his ingrained desires to find and destroy unknown enemies had caused him to leave with his mecha loaded onto a stolen barge.

Personality: Victor is not the most intellectual person. This by all means does not make him stupid, he just never had an education except basic knowledges that were preinstalled in his brain, so he's got the equivalent of an 8th grade education at best. He is eager to learn, but only to learn things that can keep his interest. What exactly interests him varies, though shiny things typically work. Victor is also a very rash person. If there is a problem or obstacle in his way, he will break it down into tiny little pieces and move on. He doesn't care how dangerous the obstacle is. This rashness is probably the byproduct of his unending desires to find his enemies and to destroy them.

Victor may be ignorant and rash, but he is by no means cruel. If he does not know someone, he will be indifferent to them. If people are his friends, he will treat them with nicely and with respect (and also tease them to a degree). If you are Victor's enemy, he will treat you coldly, unless you are directly gainst him, such as combat. Then all gloves are off.

Victor has a tendancy to attack enemies ruthlessly. In this state, reasoning with him is very difficult. If he is left alone, he will most likely rip the enemy to shreds. Yet again, most likely due to ingrained desires. If somebody is a friend or neutral with Victor he will never try to kill them, and if necessary he will do his best to ensure their survival.

Victor loves to mess with people. April Fool's Day is like his Christmas. With friends, his messing around is harmless. With enemies, eh not so much. He absolutely loves to fight. Great fights with low odds of success really gets his cold blood pumping. His favorite foods are..... well, anything really. As long as it does not smell horrible, he will try it. His hobbies include training, watching cheesy B-Movies, and playing fighting games.

Victor dislikes guns with a burning passion. He has an irrational fear of deep water and the Quaker Oatmeal Mascot. Due to being part reptile, Victor is cold blooded and because of this dislikes the cold. If he is cold, he gets very bitter and physically sluggish. If the weather is too cold, or if he's cold too long, Victor will go into "low maintenance mode" and fall asleep. Waking him up will be very hard without getting him to someplace warm. Victor is also a bit of a masochist. He enjoys every aspect of combat, including the pain.

Capabilities and Resources: Due to Victor being a genetic cross between a man and a lizard, he has several advantages put in his physical makeup that increases his survivability. He has increased strength, agility, and durability. He has a very strong sense of smell and taste as well. His reptilian features include scales, a tail, and an extendable tounge that can be used to grab things or freak people out (if his appearance isn't enough to do so anyways).

Due to being part lizard, he also has the ability to regenerate injuries that are not fatal enough to kill him before the growing. For example, a head shot or heart shot will kill him and so will enough gun shots. But if his tail or arm or whatever were to be cut off, it'll take several hours to 2 weeks depending on how much is cut off, but it'll grow back.

Victor is also cold blooded, so he is sluggish in the cold. He also has a tendancy to go into low maintenance mode and fall asleep. His regenerative capabilities are extremely hampered in cold environments.

Optimus Prime, this time without stupid typos and mistakes

Notes: As a canon integration point, we had a suggestion. Megatron's remains crashlanded onto earth hundreds of years ago, where they were found by a Mr. Sumdac and Aeolia Schoenburg. The remains were reverse engineered to make the first mobile suits, and the remains were claimed by Sumdac who went on to create a massive robotics corporation that survived the Second Impact and is still around, under the descendent of the man who found Megatron. Current CEO: Isaac Sumdac.

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_Animated

Personality: Optimus Prime grew up looking to the past. He watched (and still watches) historical documentaries of the old war between the autobots and the decepticons, and he wants to be a hero like the ones from the war. He joined the autobot academy because he wanted to serve, but because of politics, he was expelled and stuck in a dead end career out in the middle of nowhere. So the series introduces him as the commander of a team of disorganized repair bots maintaining space bridges and more than a bit depressed with where life has taken him. He holds off terminal depression by reminding himself that even if his job isn't glamorous, it's at least important.

Optimus is honorable and honest to a fault. He's not above the occasional white lie, but on the subject that he thinks is important he will refuse to lie even if doing so puts himself in a bad situation. He places a HUGE amount of importance on morality and principles. His friends can always trust their life with him. He is almost always willing to look for the best in people, and always willing to help out however is needed. He takes his duty as an officer very seriously, making an effort to keep in touch with his crew, always being willing to listen to someone who is upset in any way (though he comes off as awkward while doing this, and people generally don't take him very seriously.). In general, a shining example of everything an autobot should aspire to be. A sort of robotic Jean-Luc Picard.

He's not perfect though. He's a big stickler for making sure his orders are followed by his subordinates, but hypocritically shows little hesitation in ignoring orders when he thinks he knows better than HIS superiors. He has a fairly long fuse, but that's not the same thing as never losing his temper, especially when the subject at hand is reminding him how he's a commander of a bunch of disorganized repair bots rather than a famous war hero and member of the elite guard.

Optimus Prime comes from a very different world from Earth. The biggest difference is the mechanical nature of the life on Cybertron. His speech is littered with references to machinery (Offline instead of dead, servos instead of hands, chassis instead of body, and so on.), and while he shows a keen interest in Earthling culture and psychology, he only understands it on an academic level, often making seemingly bizarre mistakes or asking questions about subjects that seem very simple to us humans. He has particular trouble with art, frequently feeling that it leaves too much unsaid. He displays very little of the distate most cybertronians seem to feel in regards to organic life except on the subject of spiders, which he has an intense fear of.

[identity profile] i-am-a-truck.livejournal.com 2011-07-27 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Capabilities and Resources: Optimus Prime is the ranking officer of all the Autobots on Earth (for now), he has a ship hidden away somewhere that contains the All-Spark (An essentially unlimited power source that also has the capability to bestow intelligence upon any machinery that it reacts with. This thing's existance is a secret from humans, for now.). The ship is a decommissioned warship, so it does have numerous weapon systems, although these are currently deactivated. The ship is capable of tranforming into the autobots ultimate weapon, Omega Supreme. Unfortunately, Omega has no spark (the self renewing energy source that keeps all cybertronians alive) and is operating at a limited capacity with no sentience

Robot Name: ...Optimus Prime
Robot Description: Optimus himself IS a robot. While his size seems fairly inconsistant, he is similar in mass to that of a semi-truck with no trailer, so he is probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-30 feet tall when standing upright. He has the capability to transform himself into a firetruck that is indistinguishable from a normal one save that it can drive itself. While he seems to be able to change the details of his vehicle mode as needed, he does not seem to be able to change the over all shape, and is always going to be SOME kind of semi-truck with no trailer. He has a built in scanner system and communications array. In terms of armorments, Optimus' primary weapon is an axe that has some kind of beam blade, an extendable handle, and a rocket booster on the back for when he needs a bit of extra force to the swing, or for if he needs to fly short distances. In addition to this and his raw physical strength (which is not to be trifled with), he also has a pair of forearm mounted grappling hook launchers and a pair of spray cannons that fire fire-retardant foam.
Terrain Stats:
Land: A
Air: D
Sea: A
Space: B

Upgrades: Towards the end of the series, Ratchet developes a rocket pack that lets Optimus fly in his human form, and he briefly gains possession of the Magnus Hammer, which is a powerful weapon that gives the bearer the ability to summon lighting and storms.

Job: Commander of the Autobot forces on Earth.

Suggested Event List:
Mission 1: Transform and Roll out - After a brutal battle with Starscream over the mysterious Allspark, the Autobots decide they would be safer on the move and join the White Chalice

Mission 2: Thrill of the Hunt - The bounty hunter Lockdown comes to Earth to catch some rumored Autobots. Ratchet confronts some of his past failures and reclaims his EMP gun

Mission 3: Along came a Spider - On Halloween Blackarachnia, AKA Elita-1, shows up to try and steal the key to purge her organic half, backed up by the fearsome dinobots

Mission 4: Lost and Found - The Decepticons Lugnut and Blitzwing arrive on Earth and are dangerous enough to almost wipe out the attack force sent to stop them, but in the end leave due to a mysterious voice that only Lugnut can hear.

Mission 5: Headmaster - Henry Masterson, a human robotics genius, creates a device that can fuse to and control any robot. He uses it to steal Bulkhead's body and go on a rampage in anger over losing his job. In the end, he tries to hold a city for ransom by overloading a fusion plant, but the power of art saves the day.

Mission 6: Megatron Rising - Lugnut and Blitzwing steal the key while the Autobots try to move it to a more secure location. They use to revive their leader, Megatron, who's remains are discovered to be the source from when much of modern robotics has been reverse engineered. Revived, Megatron goes on to kill Starscream, then tear the Autobots a new asshole, bust into their ship and steal the allspark. Before he can get away with it, Optimus Prime shatters it, dispering the Allspark's energy across the earth. Megatron retreats, but not without stealing the robotics genius Isaac Sumdac to build him a space bridge that can get him off of Earth.

Non combat - The Elite Guard arrives from Cybertron to check in on what the hell the Autobot forces on Earth think they are doing. Their leader, Sentinel Prime, is an asshole who hates organic life.

Character Name: Sayla Mass/ Artesia Som Deikum

Community Tag: Sayla Mass
Notes:

Background: You should know this already. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayla_Mass)

There's not too much information on Sayla's canon activities after the OYW, and since we don't have to deal with her voice actor being gone, here's the portion of her history that's been modified.

After the OYW, Sayla went on to become a surgeon on earth, and a rather skilled one at that. She made good money, but quit her job to join up with Karaba once the Titans started doing their thing.

Personality:
Sayla's pretty cool and collected. She's gotten very good at carrying out her assigned duties, without any distractions getting in her way. Whether it's flying a Core Booster, manning a comm station, or performing a qaudruple-heart-bypass, she'll get the job done.

That said, Sayla is not as aloof as many others; she is very caring, as seen with her relationship with Leina, and will work to help out everyone aboard the White Chalice, such as perhaps giving the children some training or even just a shoulder to cry on.

Amuro and Char are both soft spots for Sayla, for different reasons. She still has feelings for Amuro, feelings that never were consummated. After seven years, they haven't really vanished, so AWKWARDNESS ENSUES.

Sayla's feelings towards Char are...complicated. On one hand, he's her older brother, she hasn't seen him for years, and she's just glad to meet him again. On the other, he spent those years working for the space nazis who killed their father, and picked up a number of dangerous ideas about newtypes and how they relate to oldtypes.

On that subject, Sayla firmly believes that mankind will eventually be made of nothing but newtypes, and that the change cannot be rushed. She doesn't believe that newtypes are superior or more fit for leadership than oldtypes; they're just better at perceiving some things.

Capabilities and Resources:
Sayla's rather wealthy, a skilled doctor, and a incredibly good surgeon. She has a good amount of experience piloting Mobile Suits, and is a Newtype.

Robot: Sayla does not come with a robot. If she fights, she'll be using whatever spare units Karaba/AUEG has, most likely a Nemo or a Rick Dias.

Upgrades: That one Red Zeta from Gundam Evolve. You know the one.

On the off chance you don't, it's a red MP Zeta Gundam, and is equipped with the Psycho Neutralizer system, which is pretty much the same as the Unicorn's NT-D mode. It appears only in Gundam Evolve episode 9.

Job: Surgeon, potential MS Pilot
Sample Post:

So, it's finally come to this...
Putting on a normal suit was practically second nature for Sayla now; it was like even after all those years on earth, her body never forgot what it was like to be a pilot.

As she sat down in the cockpit, she couldn't help but be amazed at how familiar it all felt. Sure, Mobile Suits had a panoramic cockpits now, but it was like nothing had really changed from her time serving on White Base. Maybe...maybe newtypes really are destined to be used as weapons, by whoever needs them most.

She shook her head, trying to get the thought out of her head as she went through the various final checks. No, that couldn't be right; after all, how many patients have I saved with my expanded perception? And though it helped him kill dozens of Zeon soldiers in the war, Amuro's Newtype senses were what got all of us out of A Boa Qu alive.

No...newtypes aren't destined to only be used as weapons.

If only I could show brother that...

"Sayla? Are you alright?"
"H-huh? Uh, yeah. Sayla, launching!"

Sorry for the wait! Your queen has arrived~! 1/2

Character Name: Cynthia Lane
Source Canon: Cynthia Lane
Community Tag: Cynthia Lane

Notes: (Assuming we don't get a Sara, may end up as a love interest to Gainer. May also end up as a token Loli to Char.)

Background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overman_King_Gainer
Cynthia Lane is the biological daughter of a great Overman pilot, and the adopted daughter of Siberian Railway Head, Kids Munt. She was raised to be an overman pilot, and was the selected candidate from a group of other pilots trained to be Kids' bodyguards. She was also trained to treat Overmans like a video game, due to the similar control system, and is second only to Gainer Sanga when it comes to games. She enjoys playing around in her Dominator and sweets, and dislikes incompitent pilots and following orders. She's loyal to her adopted father to a fault, and has a grandmother, Martina Lane, who was frozen by the overdevil vanished mysteriously. And she's Gainer's rival, though the two of them have never met in person. There's not really much more than that.

Personality: "OK! Let's have some fun, Dominator!"
Cynthia's personality is childish and a bit psychotic, though this is part is due to how she was raised. Led to believe that everything is like a game, she fails to grasp that people die when she kills them, and thus delights in brutal and flashy kills. She grows bored of fighting lesser mooks and constantly seeks out fun opponents. Though her loyalties will keep her on any mission she's assigned, if she sees an oppourtunity to have some real fun, she'll stop toying with targets and quickly finish them so she can go play with them. And by play, of course, I mean shoot them down.

"Hey, I'll get you next time, Game Champ!"
Cynthia's also very competitive, especially when it comes to Gainer. She hates losing, but is a good sport about it; each loss is something for her to learn from and try to improve. She'll keep attacking a goal until she reaches it, eventually surpassing Gainer's win streak while he's busy saving Exodus, and even trying to take him out in real life, in real Overmen! All in good fun, of course ^_^.

"I...I did that...?"
But this comes at the price of realization. Her whole world is shattered as she learns the reality of real life, shutting herself inside Dominator's cockpit and gaining a new outlook on life. Did she really kill all her fellow pilots? Is she nothing but a cold blooded murderer? Did Kids know all of this? Suddenly, she's not sure of herself, and this weakness leads to her eventual capture and manipulation by the overdevil.

"They deserve to all freeze, and become beautiful ice sculptures in the Overdevil's perfect world..."
...and this is her brainwashed and crazy. Overdevil's in full control, and she's locked in its cockpit. Can the power of love prevail and free her from her icy prison?

Capabilities and Resources: Cynthia is the Siberian Railway's Ace. She's deployed to deal with large-scale threats such as London IMA or Mechabeast attacks or the like. She's technically from an enemy faction, and though Kids keeps her on a need to know basis, she knows enough about most high rank officers and Overmen in SR.

Hopefully not too small... 2/2

Robot Name: Dominator
Robot Description: A small red(pink?) and yellow egg, with three green dots. This is the core of Dominator, though it's able to transfigure its body into different shapes, such as arms, legs, blades, clubs, and tentacles. It can also shoot energy blasts. The transfiguration skill really allows the Dominator to alter its appearance at will, and when it's sent into Overskill, it glows gold and gains unreal transformations, such as turning into a giant flan. Oh, and it can fly, presumably with Photon Mats.
Terrain Stats: Land:A
Air:A
Sea:A
Space:B

Upgrades: None to think of, but you can be sure Cynthia will gain new ideas for attacks from watching other mechas.

Job: Enemy Ace

Suggested Event List: I forsee no events that wouldn't already be in the King Gainer Event List.

Sample Post: "All right, that's 10 enemies in a row, that's a free play!"
The pink-haired girl grinned, popping another candy into her mouth as the cockpit rolled around her, evading another shot from the cannon fodder on the ground. She smirked and returned fire. Stationary targets weren't even worth her time! Their point value was low, anyway. Ah, but what was that? Zooming in on a black painted mech, trimmed with red and gold. The way it dodged every shot fired at it! The accuracy of each shot! There was a beauty in the way it overrode every move its opponents made...and it would be a great for her score!

She fires a few shots, not aiming for the mech, just drawing its attention. She smirks as she closes in, blades drawn as she attempts to melee!

"Not so fast now, are ya?!"

...and she's shocked as the mech sidesteps, grabbing her blade and sticking its gun to her cockpit. The game's music quickly changes as her mass-produced mech explodes, giving her a game over screen. All that work, down the drain! She'd underestimated that thing's speed...
Taking off her VR helmet, and annoyed at the game, she returned to what she was previously doing: dodging fire from some noobs in Artillery units. She was in no mood to play with them any more, and she activates her Dominator's overskill. Overkill, sure, but she needed to vent.

"It's game over for you guys! Let's finish this with style, Dominator!"
